Changes to clinical summaries in ezyVet version 40.4

Versions of ezyVet after version 40.4 include microchip information in the Patient Details section of clinical summaries. The information makes sure that you can give documents to clients to obey regulations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) of the United States.

Since August 1, 2024, the CDC makes it mandatory for each dog who enters the United States to have:
  • A microchip
  • Documentation of their microchip number
To make sure that you can help clients obey with CDC regulations, ezyVet clinical summaries for all patients automatically include the patient's microchip number. Thus, it is not necessary to manually add microchip numbers to clinical summaries.
Note: Versions of ezyVet also automatically include the patient color in the clinical summary. The CDC does not make it mandatory to include the patient color in the necessary documents to take a dog into the United States. But patient color information helps make sure that clinical summaries agree with other documents that clients send to the CDC (for example, a patient photo).
Note: If a client takes a dog into the United States, they must complete all of the forms that the CDC makes mandatory. An ezyVet clinical summary is not sufficient to obey the regulations. If a client has questions about what they must do to obey the regulations, tell them to refer to the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/importation/dogs/
