Communication records that a clinical summary can show

A clinical summary can show only some types of communication records. Thus, it is important to know the types of communication records that you can use in a clinical summary.

The information that follows gives the communication record types that you can use in clinical summaries and the methods to use them.

Communication records of a clinical record

In a clinical record, you can add communication records of the Client Communication section and Vet Communication section to a clinical summary:

To add the records to the clinical summary, select Client Communication and Vet Communication in the Include box when you make the summary:

Note: You cannot add communication records that are in the Communications tab of a clinical record to a clinical summary.

Communication records of a patient record

A clinical summary can show the communication records that a patient record has. This table gives information about each record that you could want a clinical summary to show and what to do to make it show:

Show communication records of other message types in a clinical summaryMake sure that the related contact record of the message has applicable information. For example, to show an SMS communication record in a clinical summary, the related contact record must have a mobile number. Or to show an email communication record in a clinical summary, the related contact record must have an email address.
Note: Communication records in a patient record only show in a clinical summary that you make from the patient record. They do not show in a clinical summary that you make from a clinical record.
