ezyVet performance troubleshooting
To find the causes of a performance problem in your ezyVet site, it is important to carefully do each applicable troubleshooting procedure. If you do each troubleshooting procedure, you can correct the performance problem in a shorter time.
ezyVet performance problems could have could have one cause or could have many causes. And some of the causes could also have no relation to ezyVet. For example, antivirus apps have no relation to ezyVet. But an antivirus app that has an incorrect configuration can cause an ezyVet performance problem. (A device that has a problem with its hard drive is one more example of a cause that has no relation to ezyVet.)
ezyVet has more record tabs open than is necessary
Each record tab uses memory and processor power of your device.
Close unwanted record tabs
Keep only the tabs that are necessary to do your work open.
Google Chrome has more tabs open than is necessary
Each Chrome tab uses memory and processor power of your device.
Close unwanted browser tabs
Keep open only the browser tabs that are necessary to do your work.
Your device has more apps open than is necessary
Each app uses memory and processor power of your device.
Close all apps that are not necessary
Keep open only the apps that are necessary to do your work.
Google Chrome has an extension that causes a performance problem
Remove extensions that are not necessary
Do a check of your installed Chrome extensions. Remove the extensions that are not necessary. Keep only the extensions that are necessary to do your work.
Temporarily use a different web browser (for example, Mozilla Firefox). If the performance is better, then the initial Chrome installation is the possible cause.
An open tab in Google Chrome uses more memory and processor power than is necessary
Find and close the problem tab
Use Chrome Task Manager to find and close the problem tab.
Google Chrome has a general problem
Clear Chrome's cache, then sign in to ezyVet again
Temporarily use a different web browser (for example, Mozilla Firefox). If the performance is better, then the initial Chrome installation is the possible cause.
Your antivirus app causes interference with ezyVet or interference with Google Chrome
Make sure that your antivirus app has the correct configuration
Configure your antivirus app to stop scans of the address of your ezyVet site. If the performance problems stop after you configure the antivirus app, the app is the possible cause.
Temporarily disable the full antivirus app. If the performance problems stop after you disable the antivirus app, the app is the possible cause.
- Refer to your antivirus app documentation
- Speak to your IT staff or a dedicated IT company
Your network does not have sufficient performance
Do checks of your network
Use a different network. For example, if the device uses a Wi-Fi, connection, change to an Ethernet connection or a mobile hotspot. If the performance is good, the initial network is the possible cause of the problem.
Do a check of the ezyVet system requirements. If necessary, upgrade your network.
Your device does not have sufficient memory and processor performance
Do checks for your device
Use ezyVet on a device that has more memory and a better processor. If the performance is good, the initial device is the possible cause of the problem.
Do a check of the ezyVet system requirements. If necessary, upgrade your device.
Your device has a general performance problem
Do general troubleshooting for your device
Restart your device and monitor its performance.

Background tasks of your device are in progress
Background tasks of your device that can cause a performance problem include antivirus scans and operating system updates (for example, Microsoft Windows updates). These background tasks are usually necessary for correct operation of your device.
Wait until the background tasks are completed
If necessary, speak to your IT staff or an IT company about the background tasks.
A task that uses the Records dashboard is in progress
If staff use the Records dashboard to change the data of many records with many filters, the task can cause a performance problem.
Do the task at a different work time
Make sure that staff only do the applicable types of tasks when there is less work. Or make sure that staff do these tasks with a smaller set of data each time.
An ezyVet automated task that uses a large quantity of data is in progress
- Automated reports
- Automated tagging tasks
- Automated reminders
Configure the automated tasks to start at a different time
An automated task that starts at times when there is less staff work helps prevent performance problems. For example, configure the automated task to start during the night or start after business hours.
Your device has malware
Malware uses the memory and processor power of your device.
