Documents do not print

If documents that you send to a printer with ezyPrint do not print, do this troubleshooting.
Note: Documents that do not print could show a status of created in ezyVet. If you are a practice manager, refer to Get access to technical information of printed documents for information about the document statuses.

The computer that the printer is connected to has a general problem

Restart the computer that is connected to the printer

If Device A is not on, Device B and Device C cannot print.

Make sure that the computer the printer is connected to is on

Note: It is possible that the applicable computer has a sleep mode. If the computer is in sleep mode, other devices cannot print. If necessary, disable sleep mode or change the sleep mode period.

A person changed the printer name

A person could change the printer name to make it easier for staff to know which printer to use. For example, the name Main-Reception-Printer is better than HPM283FDW. If a person changes the name of a printer after a practice manager configures ezyPrint, it can cause documents to not print.

Restart the computer that is connected to the printer

ezyPrint is not installed in the correct drive

For correct operation on a Microsoft Windows device, you must install ezyPrint in the Windows system drive. The system drive is usually drive C.

Make sure that ezyPrint is installed in the correct drive

A practice manager or a person with the necessary permissions.

Open drive C and do a check. If you cannot see the ezyPrint folder, install ezyPrint again and make sure that you select drive C for the installation.

The printer has incorrect paper installed

For example, the printer could have an incorrect paper type or paper size installed.

Make sure that the printer has correct paper installed

If necessary, refer to your printer documentation.

The printer has a general problem

For example, the printer:
  • Could have no ink or toner
  • Could have a part that is at the end of its life
  • Could have a paper jam
  • Could have an electrical problem or a mechanical problem

Do a check of the printer and its parts

Antivirus software prevents correct communication with the printer

Configure your organization's antivirus software with an exception for your ezyVet site

A practice manager or a person with the necessary permissions.

Note: ezyVet customer support cannot help you with antivirus software configuration. If necessary, refer to the antivirus documentation or speak to your IT staff.

A firewall prevents correct communication with the printer

Make sure your organization's firewall has the necessary configuration

A practice manager or a person with the necessary permissions.

The firewall must have exceptions for correct communication with your printer.
Note: ezyVet customer support cannot help you with firewall configuration. If necessary, refer to the firewall system documentation or speak to your IT staff.
