A printer prints prescription labels with an incorrect orientation

If your organization uses labels that have text or a background image, and a printer prints the labels with the incorrect orientation, do this troubleshooting.

The paper orientation setting of the printer is incorrect

Change the paper orientation setting

Note: These steps use a change from portrait orientation to landscape orientation as an example.
  1. Go to Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select the applicable printer.
  3. Select Printer Properties.

  4. Select Preferences.

    Windows shows a Printing Preferences dialog box.
  5. In the Orientation box, select Landscape.

  6. Select Advanced.

  7. Set Paper Size to the applicable label size.

  8. Select OK.

  9. Select Apply.

  10. Select Advanced.

    Windows shows more settings.
  11. Select Printing Defaults.

    Your device shows the Printing Defaults pop-up window.
  12. In the Orientation box, select Landscape.

  13. Select Advanced.

    Windows shows an Advanced Options dialog box.
  14. Set Paper Size to the applicable label size.

  16. Select Apply.
