The Jobs dashboard tab

The Jobs dashboard tab shows information about ezyVet system tasks. A system task is as a usual function of ezyVet. A system task is related to an ezyVet function or feature but you and other staff do not use a system task directly. To monitor system tasks and do troubleshooting, use the Jobs dashboard tab.

This table gives examples of ezyVet functions and their relation to a system task:
Example functionRelation to a system task
Patient record mergeYou use the ezyVet user interface to do a record merge. When you do the record merge, ezyVet starts a system task for the record merge at the same time. When ezyVet completes the system task, the result is a correctly merged record.
Automatic pricing changes that a product supplier makes to ezyVet product recordsTo configure automatic pricing, a practice manager makes a setting in the configuration of the applicable product supplier integration. Then when the product supplier changes the pricing of a product, ezyVet starts a system task to make the changes. When ezyVet completes the system task, the result is a product record that has the changed pricing.
Note: A practice manager can configure a product supplier integration to not automatically approve changes to product prices. As a result, they use the Jobs dashboard tab to manually approve each product price change.
CSV file importTo add some types of data to ezyVet, a practice manager does an import of a CSV file that has the data. For example, a practice manager can use a CSV file to do an import of patient data into ezyVet. When they do the import, ezyVet starts a system task for the import. When ezyVet completes the system task, the data is in ezyVet.
System tasks shows an example of:
  • System tasks for record merges
  • A system task for an automatic pricing change of a product supplier integration
The system tasks show in the Jobs section of the Jobs dashboard tab. The system tasks have the Completed status. The Completed status tells you that the record merges and the automatic pricing change completed correctly.

System task statuses

A system task can have one of these statuses:
  • Completed
  • Error
  • Pending Approval
  • Processing
  • Queued
The Jobs dashboard tab has a Status setting that you can use as a filter to show system tasks that have a selected status. For example, to show system tasks that have a problem, set Status to Error.
