About inventory counts
Inventory counts help your organization have accurate inventory information. Do an inventory count to change the product quantity of an ezyVet inventory location.
To count the quantity of products of an inventory location, you can use ezyVet Scan. After you complete the inventory count in ezyVet Scan, ezyVet Scan syncs the inventory count to ezyVet. You can use ezyVet to approve the inventory count. After you approve the inventory count, ezyVet changes the quantity of the product that it has in the applicable inventory location. As a result, the inventory count has accurate inventory information.
Each line item of an inventory count shows important information about the applicable product. For example, each line item shows:
- The product name
- The product code
- The product batch number
- The expiry date of the product batch
- The quantity of the product that you recorded
- The product quantity that you recorded in an inventory count before this one
- The difference between the quantity that you entered and the quantity that ezyVet had recorded
Important: If a physical inventory location has no products, make sure that you:
- Add the product to a line item of an applicable inventory count
- In the Count column of the line item, enter 0
The steps are necessary to make sure that ezyVet has accurate inventory records.
