Benefit configuration settings of wellness plans

When a practice manager adds a benefit to a configured wellness plan, ezyVet shows a New Wellness Plan Benefit dialog box. It is important to know the function of the settings that the dialog box shows.

Settings of the New Wellness Plan Benefit dialog box
This table gives each setting and its function:
SettingFunction
Benefit NameThe name of the wellness plan benefit. ezyVet shows the name in the patients record.
Percent or Value If you select Percent, ezyVet uses the percent value that you enter to calculate the discount of the benefit product.

If you select Value, ezyVet uses the dollar value that you enter to calculate the discount of the benefit product.

Unlimited or LimitedIf you select Unlimited, ezyVet discounts the benefit product each time that ezyVet makes an invoice for the wellness plan membership.

If you select Limited, ezyVet discounts the benefit product only for the interval that you set. You can set a different monthly interval. Or you can set a discount of one time only.

Core or OptionalIf you select Core, clients cannot use the wellness plan without the benefit. The benefit is always part of the wellness plan.

If you select Optional, clients can use the wellness plan without the benefit. (That is, the benefit is not mandatory.) You can set a cost for the benefit in the box that ezyVet shows after you select Optional. And if you select Renewable, the client can renew the optional benefit with the renewal of the wellness plan membership.

Unit or Line TotalUnit: ezyVet consumes one unit of the benefit for each occurrence of a given product in an invoice

Line Total: ezyVet consumes one unit of the benefit discount for each invoice only

For example, a staff member configures a new wellness plan benefit and selects Unit. An invoice of a wellness plan membership has three occurrences of the same benefit product. The result is that ezyVet consumes three benefit products.

As an alternative example, a staff member configures a new wellness plan benefit and selects Line Total. An invoice of a wellness plan membership has five occurrences of the benefit product. And a different invoice of the same wellness plan benefit has four occurrences of the benefit product. The results is that ezyVet consumes two benefit products.

Note: Unit is the recommended setting.
Product or Search GroupIf you select Product, the benefit uses the product that you select.

If you select Search Group, the benefit uses all products that have the search group that you select.

Note: To add more products and search groups, select Add Item.
Staff earning calculation typeThis setting controls how ezyVet calculates the staff earnings of the wellness plan.

Plan Default: Use the default staff earnings percentage of the wellness plan to calculate staff earnings. The default percentage is in the Revenue section of the wellness plan configuration.

Portion of Benefit Discount (%): Use a percentage of the discount of the product to calculate staff earnings. When you select this option, one more box shows that you can use to enter the applicable percentage.

Fixed Value (exc. Tax): Use a dollar value to calculate staff earnings.

The Consumption Rate box and Fixed checkbox The value of this box controls the quantity of the benefit consumed by:
  • One unit of each product that is invoiced
  • One unit of each search group that is invoiced
For example, a staff member configures one flea treatment pack as a benefit product. It is necessary for an invoice to consume six of the packs. Thus, the staff members uses a consumption rate of 6.
Note: You cannot use a Consumption Rate value of less than 1.

If you select Fixed, the invoice always consumes the value that you enter in the Consumption Rate box.
