The picklist builder

The picklist builder is a tool that you can use to easily make a picklist. The tool has a graphical interface, which means that it is not necessary to manually enter most of the source text. After you make the picklist, use the tool to show the related source text. Then, you can copy the source text and paste it in the clinical template.

Note: To add a template variable to a picklist, you must use the picklist’s source text format. You cannot use the picklist builder to add a template variable.
To get access to the picklist builder, select the Picklist Builder tab of a clinical template:

After you select Picklist Builder, the picklist builder shows temporary initial content. You can change and remove the initial content.

When the picklist is prepared, select To Output to show the source text. Then, you can copy the source text and paste it in the clinical template:

Tip: To show the source text of a picklist in graphical format, first put the source text in the Output box. Then, select To Builder. This is a good method to learn about how to use the picklist builder and the source text format.

Picklist builder buttons

Each line of the picklist builder is related to a text item of the picklist. A picklist text item is usually a question or answer. When you hover over a line in the picklist builder, ezyVet shows a set of buttons:

This table gives the function of each button.

Button Function
The change buttonSelect to change the text content of a picklist text item. (For example, you can change the text of a question or answer.)
The add buttonSelect to add a text item to the picklist.
Important: A question of a picklist can have a maximum of one more question. If it is necessary for a question to have more than one question, make a question as an alternative. The graphical interface of the picklist builder will let you make questions that have many questions. But a picklist question in a clinical template can have one more question only.
The remove buttonSelect to remove a text item from a picklist.
Note: To correctly remove a text item, first select the button. Then, select an area that is adjacent to the text item:
