About picklists
Use a picklist to quickly and easily enter information in the clinical template of a clinical record. A picklist has a list of text items. When you select a picklist, you can select a text item, which adds it to the clinical template. Thus, it is not necessary to manually enter the text each time.
A practice manager usually configures a picklist and its text items. Other staff cannot change the picklist’s text items. Thus, the sections of a clinical record that use picklists with clinical templates have good-quality information.

A practice manager can configure a clinical template with many picklists. Staff members can select the Tab key to quickly move to each picklist location in a template.
Picklists and shorthand text
You can use the source text format of a picklist as the replacement text of a shorthand text item. As a result, ezyVet shows the picklist when you enter a shorthand text item.

You can use ezyVet’s template variables with picklists. For example, you can use the {AnimalName} template variable to automatically show the patient’s name. To add a template variable to a picklist, use the picklist’s source text format.
