About in-person signatures

Use ezyVet's in-person signature feature to quickly and easily configure electronic signatures for many different types of documents. After you configure a document's source template to use an in-person signature, a client can enter their electronic signature in the document. It is not necessary for you to print the document and get a physical signature from the client.

After the client enters and saves their electronic signature, ezyVet automatically saves the completed document as an attachment in the applicable record.

Tip: You would usually use an in-person signature with a client who is in the same room. To use an electronic signature with a client who is in a different location, you can use a remote signature. For more information, refer to About remote signatures.

Necessary steps for in-person signatures

These are the general steps to configure and use in-person signatures:
  1. The practice manager configures a document template with the necessary settings and the applicable template variables
  2. A staff member uses the document template to make a document that must have an electronic signature from a client

Template variables for in-person signatures

This table gives the applicable template variables for in-person signature.
Template variable Function
{Signature}Use with a template that is configured to have an in-person electronic signature from a client. This variable shows the completed signature of the applicable PDF document at full dimensions.
{SignatureLarge}Use with a template that is configured to have an in-person electronic signature from a client. This variable shows the completed signature of the applicable PDF document at large dimensions.
{SignatureMedium}Use with a template that is configured to have an in-person electronic signature from a client. This variable shows the completed signature of the applicable PDF document at moderate dimensions.
{SignatureSmall}Use with a template that is configured to have an in-person electronic signature from a client. This variable shows the completed signature of the applicable PDF document at small dimensions.

Document template settings for in-person signatures

An ezyVet document template has a Use in-person signature capture setting. If you select Use in-person signature capture, you can add a maximum of three applicable template variables to the template. A client can enter one electronic signature for each time that you enter a template variable.

Note: When you select Use in-person signature capture, ezyVet does not automatically add the applicable template variables to the template. You must manually add the template variables.
