Make a document template (basic procedure)

After a practice manager makes a document template, staff can select it when they want to make or print documents (for example, for invoices, certificates, and clinical summaries).

To make a template, do this procedure.
Note: This procedure gives only the basic steps for a new document template.
  1. Select Admin.
    The Admin tab
  2. In the settings list, select Settings.
The Settings setting in the settings list
  3. In the settings list, select Templates.
The Templates setting in the settings list
  4. Select Document Templates.
    The Document Templates setting
ezyVet shows a New Template screen.
  5. In the Name box, enter a name for the template.
Tip: Enter a name that makes it easy for staff to identify when and where to use the template.
  6. Select or clear Use New Templating Engine as necessary.
Note: If you want to use template variables of the Twig template system, select Use New Templating Engine.

If you want to use template variables of the classic template system, clear Use New Templating Engine.

Note: You cannot use template variables of the Twig template system and the classic template system in the same template.
  7. In the Template Group box, select a group that identifies the template type.
For an document template for invoices, set Template Group to Invoice. Or for a document template for a boarding consent form, set Template Group to Consent Form.
  8. In the HTML box of the template editor, enter the template content that you want.
    The HTML box
  9. Make other template settings as necessary (for example, set the page margins or the page orientation).
  10. Select Save & Preview.
    The Save & Preview button
ezyVet shows a confirmation message and also shows a pop-up window with a PDF preview of the document template.
ezyVet has the document template.
  • Make more changes to the template as necessary
  • Tell staff that they can select and use the template for applicable work tasks (for example, if you made a document template for invoices, tell staff that they can use the template to print invoices)
  • Configure ezyVet to automatically use the template for applicable work tasks (for example, you can configure ezyVet to automatically use the template when staff print invoices or print consent forms)
