Units of measurement for temperatures in the anesthesia chart

You can record a patient’s temperature in the Anesthesia pane of the anesthesia chart. Vet Radar shows the value of the patient’s temperature in the anesthesia chart. If necessary, you can change the unit of measurement that Vet Radar uses to show the temperature. To change the unit of measurement, use the Temperature setting.

The available units of measurement for temperatures are:
  • Celsius
  • Fahrenheit
The Temperature setting only changes the unit of measurement for the Anesthesia pane. This image shows the Temperature setting and the unit of measurement that Vet Radar shows on the Anesthesia pane:

Note: Vet Radar does not change the unit of measurement for temperature tasks on the patient sheet.

If you change the unit of measurement for temperatures, Vet Radar does not change the value of the temperature.

A staff member recorded a patient’s temperature as 34 degrees Celsius. You change the unit of measurement for temperatures to Fahrenheit. Vet Radar shows the unit of measurement as Fahrenheit in the anesthesia chart but Vet Radar does not change the value of the temperature. As a result the anesthesia chart shows the patient’s temperature as 34 degrees Fahrenheit.
