About Vet Radar approvals

Vet Radar has an approvals feature. The approvals feature enables a staff member with the applicable approval role to give approval for changes to a patient’s treatment plan. For example, if a university wants a veterinarian to do a check of the treatment plan that a student makes, they can use the approval feature.

Before you can use the approvals feature, a practice manager must configure the approval role of Vet Radar user accounts. Vet Radar has three approval roles:
  • Needs approval
  • Can approve
  • Not applicable
After a practice manager configures a user account with the Needs approval approval role, Vet Radar identifies changes that they make to the patient sheet. For example, if the staff member adds a treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar shows a purple color:

A staff member with the Can approve approval role must give approval for all changes to the patient sheet. Staff cannot change the treatment task before a staff member with the Can approve approval role gives approval. For example, staff cannot:
  • Start a treatment task that a staff member did not give approval for
  • Ignore a treatment task that a staff member did not give approval for
  • Complete a treatment task that a staff member did not give approval for
The patient card shows a purple circle to identify that you must give approval to a treatment of a patient sheet:

Tip: You can use a filter to show patient sheets that have changes that you must give approval for.
