About the anesthesia alert
The anesthesia sheet has an alert. The alert is a sound that tells staff to record the patient's vitals on the anesthesia chart.
A practice manager can enable the anesthesia alert for all enabled anesthesia sheets in Vet Radar. If the practice manager enables the Anaesthesia audible alert default setting, Vet Radar makes a sound at the applicable period on the anesthesia chart. For example, if you selected the 5 min period, Vet Radar makes a sound at an interval of five minutes.
Vet Radar does not make a sound if the anesthesia sheet is not open. Vet Radar only makes the sound if the anesthesia sheet is open.
A practice manager wants to make sure that staff record a patient's vitals on the anesthesia chart at intervals of 10 minutes. To make sure, the practice manager configures the alert to make a sound at intervals of 10 minutes. The alert tells staff to record the patient's vitals. They use the Anaesthesia audible alert default setting to make sure that Vet Radar automatically enables the alert when a staff member makes an anesthesia sheet.
A nurse admits a patient that must have surgery. A veterinary technician makes a patient sheet and they make an anesthesia sheet. After they make the anesthesia sheet, they make a decision to disable the Alert setting. Because the veterinary technician disabled the Alert setting, Vet Radar does not make a sound.
