When you scan a barcode, your browser incorrectly opens a new browser window

The barcode scanner has a configuration problem

Some models of barcode scanner can send incorrect data to your web browser. The incorrect data tells your web browser to open a new browser window.

Refer to the product documentation of the barcode scanner and find information about the line feed suffix. To correct the problem, it is usually necessary to configure the barcode scanner to remove the line feed suffix.

For example, Honeywell barcode scanners can have this problem. If you have a Honeywell barcode scanner, do the troubleshooting given in honeywellaidc.force.com/supportppr/s/article/Scanning-into-a-browser-opens-a-new-window-Downloads-Library-Developer-Tools
