A diagnostic product is an ezyVet product record that has Type set to Diagnostic in its configuration. ezyVet uses diagnostic products for invoicing diagnostic tests.

To invoice a diagnostic test, you cannot add it directly to an invoice. And ezyVet cannot automatically add the diagnostic test directly to the invoice. For the two conditions, the invoice can only use the diagnostic product of the diagnostic test. A practice manager configures the diagnostic product with the cost, tax, and other pricing information for the diagnostic test.

For automatic invoicing of a diagnostic test, a practice manager uses the Primary Billing Trigger box of the test to select the applicable diagnostic product. Thus, a billing trigger uses the diagnostic product to do automatic invoicing.

Diagnostic products and supplied diagnostic tests

A supplied diagnostic test has cost information. The applicable diagnostics supplier sets the initial cost information. The initial cost shows in the record of the supplied diagnostic test.

Diagnostic product configuration shows the configuration of the diagnostic product of the vcpr-8482 diagnostic test. The Type setting is Diagnostic. And the configuration includes the pricing information for the diagnostic test.

For supplied diagnostic tests, a practice manager can use the integration settings of an applicable diagnostics integration to configure automatic changes for diagnostic products. For example, they can use the settings:

• To configure ezyVet to automatically make the necessary diagnostic products for diagnostic tests of a diagnostics supplier
• To configure ezyVet to automatically change the pricing information of diagnostic products when the diagnostics supplier changes the cost price of their diagnostic tests

Diagnostic products and site diagnostic tests

Because a site diagnostic test is not from a diagnostics supplier, it does not have cost information from a diagnostics supplier.
