To quickly and easily send a specified set of clinical information to a client or other persons, use a clinical summary. ezyVet clinical summaries use templates to help make sure that applicable clinical information is high quality and is easy to send.

A clinical summary can have information that is the applicable to the person who receives the information. For example, a clinical summary for clients could only have information about take-home medications, discharge notes, and revisits. And a clinical summary for specialist veterinarians could have information about clinical procedures and other information that is only related to the procedures.

All ezyVet sites have a set of configured clinical summaries that you can select and use in clinical records. This image shows an example of configured clinical summaries in ezyVet’s system settings and the Summary box of a clinical record where you can select them:

Exclude and Include boxes shows the Exclude and Include boxes of the screen that you use select and send a clinical summary. Each box can have types of clinical information (for example, medications or histories). A clinical summary shows information that you add to the Include box. A clinical summary does not show information that you add to the Exclude box. When you select a clinical summary in a clinical record, ezyVet automatically puts applicable information in the Exclude and Include boxes. But if necessary, you can use the boxes to adjust the information of the clinical summary that you selected.

ezyVet keeps a record of clinical summaries that you send. The records show in the Clinical Summary section of the clinical summary screen in clinical records:

A clinical summary uses:

• A document template
• An email template

The document template controls the content and formatting of the clinical summary. The email template controls the content and formatting of the email that you use the send the clinical summary to persons.

All ezyVet sites have a set of document templates and email templates that staff can select and use for clinical summaries. A practice manager can use the templates as an initial source for make other document templates and email templates for clinical summaries.
