Boxes

Boxes show in many areas of ezyVet's user interface.

A box has two primary functions:
  • Use to select a record
  • Use to enter text or numbers
Note: Other products could use field to refer to a box.
Box types shows two boxes of a patient record. You can use the Owner box to select the contact record of the patient's owner. You can use the Patient Name box to enter text information.

If you can use a box to select a record, ezyVet identifies the box with a magnifying glass icon:

The magnifying glass icon also tells you that you can find related records in the box directly. To find related records, select the box. Then, start to enter information. While you enter the information, ezyVet automatically shows search results of related records. Box search results shows automatic search results of a box after a person entered K.

If an applicable box does not have a record selected, ezyVet shows (BLANK) in the box:

If you can use a box to select a record, you can also:
  • Make the related record type from the box directly
  • Change information of the related record type from the box directly
If a box shows (BLANK) and you double-click in the box, ezyVet opens a record tab that you can use to make the related record:

Because of these methods, it is frequently not necessary to use the primary tabs and left sidebar to get access to records.
