Restore text content that you accidentally removed from a record

Many types of ezyVet records have a change log. ezyVet automatically records information about record changes in its change log. If you accidentally remove text content from a record, you can use the change log to restore it.

  • Make sure that you use ezyVet with Google Chrome
  • Make sure that you read about the change log and know its function
To restore the text content, do this procedure.
Note: This procedure uses the comments of a physical exam record as an example. The general steps of this procedure are almost the same to restore text from other types of ezyVet records.
Note: The keyboard shortcuts in this procedure are applicable to Microsoft Windows. If you use a different operating system, it could have different keyboard shortcuts.
Note: This procedure is best for persons who know about computers. If you have a problem during the procedure, refresh the page and start again. If you continue to have a problem, speak to ezyVet customer support.
  1. Find and open the applicable record.

  2. Select the change log button.

  3. Look at the From Values column of the change log and find the text that you accidentally removed.The From Values column of the change log and example text content
  4. Select F12.
    Chrome shows a source code pane at the side of its window. The pane shows the source code of the webpage and a set of source code buttons and commands:

  5. Select the arrow button that is at the top of the source code pane.

    After you select the arrow button, it shows a blue color:

  6. In the View Change Log pop-up window, hover over the text that you accidentally removed:

    Note: When you hover over the text that you accidentally removed, Chrome also shows a pop-up window. You can ignore the pop-up window.
  7. Select the arrow that is adjacent to the highlighted source code.

  8. Double-click the source code of the text.

  9. Select Ctrl + C.
    Chrome puts the source code in your device's clipboard.
  10. Select F12.
    Chrome closes its source code pane.
  11. Select the cross button of the View Change Log pop-up window to close it.

  12. Select in the Comments box and paste the text content.
