About memos

A memo is an electronic message that you can send and receive directly in ezyVet. You can use memos to quickly and easily send information to other staff members who use your ezyVet site.

For example, a veterinary technician can use a memo to send information about a clinical record to the case owner. Because the memo is in ezyVet, it is not necessary to use a different system to get access to the information.

The function of ezyVet’s memo system is almost the same as an email system. For example:
  • The memo system has Inbox and Sent tabs
  • Each memo has a subject and information about who sent the memo
  • You can add file attachments to a memo (for example, patient photos or photos of a clinical problem)
  • Memos can have statuses that include read, unread, and flagged

Tip: To easily send a memo to many staff members at the same time, use a user group tag.

The memo screen shows a set of filters that you can use to quickly and easily find applicable memos. The available filters are:
  • Date range
  • Staff member
  • Subject and memo text
  • Status

Access to memosCopy

To get access to your memos, select the memo button in the quick links area: The memo button

Tip: A number could show adjacent to the memo button. The number identifies the number of new memos that are available for you to read.

Each memo in the memo screen could show one or more icons. This table gives each icon and the information that it identifies:
IconInformation
The unread iconThe memo is not read.
The read iconThe memo is read.
The not flagged iconThe memo is not flagged.
The flagged iconThe memo is flagged.
The urgent iconThe memo is an urgent memo.
The file attachment iconThe memo has a file attachment.

New memos and ezyVet messagesCopy

When you receive a new memo, ezyVet shows a message that tells you about the memo. The message includes the subject text of the memo. The subject is between quotation marks in the message.
