Configuration settings of wellness plan benefit
When a practice manager adds a benefit to a configured wellness plan, ezyVet shows a New Wellness Plan Benefit dialog box. Use the dialog box to configure a wellness plan benefit. The settings control plan products, product discounts, staff earnings, and benefit use limits.
This table gives each setting and its function:

| Benefit Name | Enter the name of the wellness plan benefit.ezyVet shows the benefit name in the Wellness tab of a patient record. |
| Percent and Value | The Percent and Value settings control if the discount for products in the wellness plan benefit is a percentage or an entered price. When each product must be discounted by a percentage, select Percent. Enter the percentage in the adjacent box (for example, 50 for a 50% discount). When each product must be discounted by an entered price, select Value. Enter the price in the adjacent box (for example, 10 for a $10 discount). |
| Unlimited and Limited | The Unlimited and Limited settings control the benefit use limit. The benefit use limit is the number of times a patient can use the wellness plan benefit while the wellness plan membership is active. When there is no limit on the number of times a patient can use the wellness plan benefit, select Unlimited. When there is a limit on the number of times a patient can use the wellness plan benefit, select Limited. After you select Limited, ezyVet shows boxes adjacent to Limited where you can enter the benefit use limit and the interval. You can select an interval (for example, every 1 month, every 6 months, or one time). |
| Core and Optional | The Core and Optional settings control if the wellness plan benefit is mandatory for the wellness plan. When a wellness plan benefit is mandatory for the wellness plan, select Core. Each patient with an active wellness plan membership gets the benefit. When a wellness plan benefit is not mandatory for the wellness plan, select Optional. The patient can use the wellness plan without the benefit. After you select Optional, ezyVet shows:

| Unit or Line Total | The Unit or Line Total settings control how much of the benefit use limit ezyVet uses for each invoice. When product quantity on an invoice uses part of the benefit use limit, select Unit. For example, an invoice has a product quantity of 3 for the benefit product. ezyVet uses 3 from the benefit use limit. After you select Unit, ezyVet shows the Consumption Rate box and the Fixed checkbox. When each invoice only uses part of the benefit use limit, select Line Total. Product quantity on the invoice does not change how much ezyVet uses. For example, one invoice has a product quantity of 5 for the benefit product. A different invoice has a product quantity of 4 for the same benefit product. ezyVet uses 2 from the benefit use limit, not 9. Note: We recommend that you select Unit. |
| Product or Search Group | The Product or Search Group settings control which products the wellness plan benefit is applicable to. To find and use a product, select Product. To find and use all products in the search group, select Search Group. To add more products and search groups, select Add Item. |

| Consumption Rate | The Consumption Rate setting controls how much of the benefit use limit one invoiced unit of each product or search group uses. Note: You cannot enter a Consumption Rate value of less than one. |
| Fixed | The Fixed setting controls if invoiced quantity changes how much of the benefit use limit each invoice line item uses. When invoiced quantity must not change how much of the benefit use limit each invoice line item uses, select the Fixed checkbox. Each invoice line item always uses the value that you enter in the Consumption Rate box. For example, when Consumption Rate is 1 and product quantity in the invoice line item is 10, ezyVet uses 1 from the benefit use limit, not 10. When invoiced quantity must change how much of the benefit use limit each invoice line item uses, do not select the Fixed checkbox. For example, when Consumption Rate is 1 and product quantity in the invoice line item is 10, ezyVet uses 10 from the benefit use limit, not 1. |
Examples of wellness plan benefits
The table that follows gives examples of wellness plan benefits you can add and the applicable settings that you can use.

| Give four free non-core vaccines in a 12-month interval | Use these settings:
| Each non-core vaccine uses 1 from the benefit use limit. When a staff member invoices 2 non-core vaccines at the same appointment, ezyVet uses 2 from the benefit use limit, not 1. After the appointment, the patient can use the non-core vaccine benefit two more times in the 12-month interval. |
| Give four free preventive deworming products in a 6-month interval | Use these settings:
| With Consumption Rate of 6 and the Fixed checkbox selected, each invoice line item uses 6 from the benefit use limit. When a staff member invoices 10 preventive deworming products on one invoice line item, ezyVet uses 6 from the benefit use limit, not 10. After the appointment, the patient can use the preventive deworming benefit three more times in the 6-month interval. |
| Add two dental cleanings to a patient's wellness plan for $50 | Use these settings:
| Patients can use the wellness plan without the dental cleaning benefit. Each dental cleaning uses 5 from the benefit use limit. The patient can use the benefit two times for the period of the plan. ezyVet includes the wellness plan benefit in wellness plan membership renewal. |
