SmartFlow temporary patient records

Make a SmartFlow temporary patient record if you must record clinical care information for a patient who does not have an ezyVet patient record or an ezyVet clinical record. After you make the temporary patient record, you can use the Smart Flow dashboard tab to make the ezyVet records.

Note: Before you can make a temporary patient record, a practice manager must set LIMIT PATIENT CREATION TO EMR in SmartFlow to OFF .
After you make a SmartFlow temporary patient record, SmartFlow syncs it to ezyVet. Then the Unallocated Smart Flow Patients section of the Smart Flow dashboard tab shows the temporary patient record.

You cannot use a SmartFlow temporary patient record to invoice a client. You must use ezyVet records to invoice the client. To invoice the client, you can use one of two methods. You can:
  • Make ezyVet records for a SmartFlow temporary patient record
  • Merge SmartFlow temporary patient records with ezyVet records

Method: Make ezyVet records for a SmartFlow temporary patient record

If your ezyVet site does not have ezyVet records for a patient or a client, you can make the records. For example, if a patient is at your organization for the first time, you can make the applicable records. Then you can invoice the client for the clinical care that you gave to the patient.

Method: Merge SmartFlow temporary patient records with ezyVet records

If your ezyVet site has ezyVet records for a patient and the client, you can merge the patient and the client, you can merge the ezyVet temporary patient records with the client for the clinical care that you gave to the patient.

Removal of SmartFlow temporary patient records

If it is not necessary to invoice a client for the clinical care that you used a SmartFlow temporary patient record to record, you can remove the temporary patient record. After you remove the record, you cannot invoice the applicable client for the clinical care.

Note: ezyVet customer support does not recommend that you remove SmartFlow temporary patient records. If you remove a temporary patient record, ezyVet does not have a record of the clinical care that you gave to the patient.
