Mobile phone numbers that are available for Vello text messaging

If a person has a mobile phone number in a client contact record in ezyVet, you can use Vello to send and receive text messages with them.

The Contact Methods section of a client contact record in ezyVet can show more than one mobile phone number. For example, if a client has two mobile phone numbers, the Contact Methods section shows the mobile phone numbers.

Most times, the mobile phone numbers in a client contact record are for the applicable client. But other persons can also have phone numbers in the client contact record (for example, an emergency contact or a pet sitter).

If you set Type to Mobile for a mobile phone number in the Contact Methods section, you can use the phone number for client text messaging.

Each entry of the Contact Methods section has a Name box. If you enter information in the Name box for a mobile phone number, the information shows adjacent to the name of the client in:
  • The messages list in the Vello inbox
  • Conversation view in the Vello inbox

If you enter information in the Name box for a primary phone number, the information does not show adjacent to the name of the client in the messages list. Name box and messages example 2 shows a primary phone number in the Contact Methods section that has information in the Name box. The applicable message in the Vello message list does not show the Name box information adjacent to the name of the client.

Note: If you do not enter information in the Name box, Vello shows:
  • The mobile phone number as a name value in the messages list
  • No Label for the mobile phone number in the Additional Contacts section of conversation view

Mobile phone numbers for clients in the Vello inbox

If you select a text conversation in the Vello inbox, the conversation view shows:
  • The name of the client
  • The code of their client contact record
  • The client's mobile phone number
  • An Additional Contacts button

If you select Additional Contacts, Vello shows the mobile phone numbers that are in the applicable client contact record in ezyVet:

To send and receive text messages with a person, you can select a mobile phone number in the Additional Contacts section.

Tip: If you want to use a person's mobile phone number to find them in Vello, select the plus button in the Vello inbox:

After you complete a text conversation in Vello, you can sync the text conversation to the client contact record and the patient record in ezyVet. After the sync, ezyVet makes a communication record for the text conversation. And the communication record shows the mobile phone number of the applicable person. This image shows a mobile phone number in a communication record in ezyVet:
