Contact record settings that Vello uses for automatic reminders and text messaging

Before Vello can send automatic reminders or text messages to clients, you must make the necessary settings for the applicable client contact records in ezyVet.

Each ezyVet client contact record has a For Reminders/Automated Communication setting. The setting:
  • Shows as a clock icon in the Contact Methods section of the record
  • Shows adjacent to each email address and phone number entry of the Contact Methods section

The For Reminders/Automated Communication setting

Vello uses the For Reminders/Automated Communication setting differently compared to how ezyVet uses the setting. Vello uses For Reminders/Automated Communication to control automatic reminders and text messaging for an applicable client.

If a client wants to receive automatic reminders from Vello, you must set For Reminders/Automated Communication as necessary. For example, if you select For Reminders/Automated Communication for an email address and mobile phone number, Vello sends email reminders and text message reminders to the client.

If a client wants to use a specified mobile phone number to send and receive text messages with your practice, you must set For Reminders/Automated Communication as necessary. For example, if you select For Reminders/Automated Communication for one mobile phone number in the Contact Methods section, Vello uses the phone number for text messaging.

This table shows different selections for the For Reminders/Automated Communication setting and the result in Vello for:
  • Automatic reminders
  • Text messaging

Note: A client contact record can have more than one mobile phone number. And more than one of the phone numbers can have For Reminders/Automated Communication set. To tell Vello to use one of the phone numbers for text messaging, set Preferred Contact Method for the applicable phone number.

If you do not select Preferred Contact Method for one of the phone numbers, Vello uses the first phone number in the list that has For Reminders/Automated Communication set.
