Settings of the Controlled Drug report

For correct operation of the Controlled Drug report, it is important to know the functions of its settings and filters.

The Format section shows the available file formats that you can use to save the report:
The Format section
Note: To download the Controlled Drug report as a data (DAT) file, you must use the Version section of the report settings to select an applicable American Society for Automation in Pharmacy (ASAP) report version (for example, ASAP 4.2B). After you select an ASAP version, the Format section shows a DAT file format that you can select:
The DAT file format

You cannot download the standard version of the Controlled Drug report as a DAT file. And you cannot download an ASAP version of the report as PDF.

The Controlled Drugs section shows the primary settings of the report:

This table gives the function of each setting:
SettingFunction
For Department/sUse For Department/s to select the department that the report shows controlled drug information for.
Note: For Department/s is only applicable for ezyVet sites that have a department configuration.
Note: If you do not use For Department/s to select a department, the report shows controlled drug information of the department that you are signed in to.
Note: The report only shows controlled drugs that staff dispensed for departments that your user account has access to.
From and ToUse From and To to select the date range of the report.
Products With TagUse Products With Tag to select a record tag. As a result, the report output only shows product records that have the record tag.
Note: For example, in some states it is mandatory to do reporting for controlled drugs that you dispense to patient owners to take home. A practice manager can add a take-home controlled drug record tag to product records of controlled drugs. Then, you can use Products With Tag to only show product records that have the take-home controlled drug record tag. As a result, the report output only shows the controlled drugs that staff members dispensed for a patient owner to take home.
Tip: If you do not use Products With Tag to select a tag, the report shows all controlled drugs that you and other staff dispensed.
Days Supply more than or equal to days

Use Days Supply more than or equal to days as a filter for dispensed periods.

For example, you could enter a Days Supply more than or equal to days value of 2. As a result, the report shows controlled drugs that staff dispensed to a patient owner with two or more day's supply.

Note: If you do not enter a Days Supply more than or equal to days value, the report shows all controlled drugs that staff dispensed in the date range that you selected with From and To.
Note: A practice manager must configure your ezyVet site to show the Days Supply box.
Tip: You can use the report output to know which controlled drugs do not have a Days Supply value recorded.
The Version section shows a setting that you can use to select an ASAP version for the report:
The Version section

The available ASAP versions are:

  • ASAP 4.1
  • ASAP 4.2
  • ASAP 4.2A
  • ASAP 4.2B
Note: Make sure that you select the ASAP version that is mandatory for your state.

The Version section has a Test Submission setting that you can use to make a test report. Upload the test report to an applicable reporting portal for controlled drugs to make sure that the report has the necessary information and the correct format. The output of the test report shows a T in its File Type (TH07) column. The T identifies the report as a test report.
