General configuration of diagnostics integrations

Diagnostics integrations: Settings that control automatic changes to diagnostic tests

A ezyVet diagnostics integration has settings that control automatic changes to diagnostic test information.

The automatic changes can help decrease the manual work that is necessary for your organization to keep accurate diagnostic tests and accurate cost information.

Examples of automatic changes:
  • When a diagnostics supplier changes the names of its diagnostic tests, ezyVet can automatically change its diagnostic test names to the same names
  • When a diagnostics supplier adds new diagnostic tests, ezyVet can automatically make them available for staff to select and use
  • When a diagnostics supplier changes the prices of its diagnostic tests, ezyVet can automatically set its diagnostic tests to the same prices

DefinitionsCopy

supplied diagnostic test
A diagnostic test that is available directly in ezyVet from a diagnostics integration.
custom supplied diagnostic test
A diagnostic test that a customer configures and that has a relation to one or many supplied diagnostic tests.
diagnostic product
An ezyVet product record that has Type set to Diagnostic in its configuration. ezyVet uses diagnostic products for automatic invoicing of diagnostics. Thus, a diagnostic product has the pricing information of a related diagnostic test. A diagnostic product usually has a relation with a supplied diagnostic test or a custom supplied diagnostic test.

Setting functionsCopy

To do the configuration for automatic changes, use the settings that show in the Auto-update settings section of the integration settings screen:
Auto-update settings section of a diagnostics integration
This table gives each setting and its function:
SettingFunction
Auto-update supplied diagnostic names when imported from web serviceIf you set Auto-update supplied diagnostic names when imported from web service to YES: ezyVet changes the names of its supplied diagnostic tests to the names of the related tests of the diagnostics supplier.
Auto-enable new supplied diagnostics when imported from web serviceIf you set Auto-enable new supplied diagnostics when imported from web service to YES: When the diagnostics supplier adds a new diagnostic test, ezyVet automatically makes it available as an enabled supplied diagnostic test.
If you set Auto-enable new supplied diagnostics when imported from web service to NO: When the diagnostics supplier adds a new diagnostic test, ezyVet automatically makes it available as a disabled supplied diagnostic test.
Note: If you set Auto-enable new supplied diagnostics when imported from web service to YES when you configure the integration for the first time, the integration enables all supplied diagnostic tests.
Auto-create products for supplied diagnosticsThe Auto-create products for supplied diagnostics setting has different functions for related conditions.
Condition 1:
  1. You set Auto-create products for supplied diagnostics to YES
  2. A supplied diagnostic test has a code that is not the same code as a diagnostic product
  3. The supplied diagnostic test does not have a relation to a diagnostic product
  4. A diagnostic product does not have a relation to the supplied diagnostic test
  5. The supplied diagnostic test is enabled
As a result, the integration:
  • Makes a diagnostic product
  • Makes a relation between the diagnostic product and the supplied diagnostic test
  • Sets the diagnostic product name to the name of the supplied diagnostic test
  • Sets the diagnostic product code to the code of the supplied diagnostic test
  • Sets the correct cost price of the diagnostic product
  • Sets the markup of the diagnostic product to the markup that is set in the integration
  • Sets the product group of the diagnostic product to the product group that is set in the integration
Condition 2:
  1. You set Auto-create products for supplied diagnostics to YES
  2. You set Update products for supplied diagnostics to YES
  3. The supplied diagnostic test has a code that is the same code of a product
  4. A supplied diagnostic test is enabled.
As a result, the integration:
  • Makes a diagnostic product
  • Makes a relation between the diagnostic product and the supplied diagnostic test
  • Sets the name of the diagnostic product to the name of the supplied diagnostic test
  • Sets the product group of the diagnostic product to the product group that is set in the integration
  • Sets the correct cost price of the diagnostic product

  4. A supplied diagnostic test is enabled.

Result: The integration uses the diagnostic product to set the billing trigger of the supplied diagnostic test.

Note: The Auto-create products for supplied diagnostics setting cannot automatically make a diagnostic product for a custom supplied diagnostic test. You must:
  1. Manually make a diagnostic product for the custom supplied diagnostic test
  2. Manually configure the diagnostic product with the applicable cost information
