About IDEXX VetConnect PLUS accounts

To use some types of IDEXX integrations with ezyVet, your organization must have an IDEXX VetConnect PLUS account. For example, a VetConnect PLUS account is necessary to use the IDEXX Reference Laboratories integration and the IDEXX VetLab Station integration.

To get a VetConnect PLUS account, speak to IDEXX customer support and:
  • Give them your IDEXX account number
  • Give them the name and email address of the person at your organization who will configure and use the account
  • Tell them that your organization uses ezyVet

After you give the information, IDEXX customer support gives you an administrator username and password for your VetConnect PLUS account. The administrator username and password is necessary to complete the configuration of VetConnect PLUS with the applicable integrations.

Dedicated usernames and passwords for staff access to VetConnect PLUS

The initial username and password that IDEXX customer support gives you is the administrator username and password. A practice manager uses the administrator username and password when they configure the integration for IDEXX Reference Laboratories or the integration for IDEXX VetLab Station. For example, the settings of the VetLab Station integration have a VetConnect PLUS username box and VetConnect PLUS password box. A practice manager uses each box to enter the administrator username and password.

Staff can sign in to VetConnect PLUS directly. After they sign in, they can read diagnostic requests, diagnostic results, and other information. ezyVet customer support recommends that a practice manager uses their VetConnect PLUS account to make dedicated usernames and passwords for staff to sign in to VetConnect PLUS directly. The dedicated usernames and passwords help make sure that an organization can continue to use applicable IDEXX integrations if a username or password changes accidentally. For example, if a staff password for VetConnect PLUS accidentally changes, the integrations continues to operate because they use the administrator password.
