Do an inventory count

An inventory count helps to make sure that your organization has accurate inventory levels.

Make sure that your user account has the Financial > Inventory Counts > Add/Edit permission.
Note: After you select Start Count in step 6, you cannot change the inventory count's:
  • Date and time
  • Department or business unit
  • Inventory location
To do an inventory count, do this procedure.
Note: As an alternative, you can use ezyVet Scan to do inventory counts and sync them to ezyVet.More
  1. Select Financial.

  2. Select Inventory Count.

    ezyVet shows a New Inventory Count screen.
  3. If necessary, use the Date & time box to enter the date and time when you started the inventory count.

    Note: The Date & time box automatically records the date and time when you start the inventory count. If necessary, you can change it to a date and time that occurred less than one month before today. After you select Start Count, you cannot change the date and time.
  4. In the Department box, select the applicable department or business unit.
    Note: If your site does not use a department configuration or a business unit configuration, ezyVet does not show the Department box.
  5. In the Inventory Location box, select the applicable inventory location.
  6. Select Start Count.

  7. In the Product box of the applicable line item, select a product.

    The In inventory column of the line item shows the quantity of the product that you recorded previously.
  8. If the line item is for a batch-tracked product, use the Batch column to select a batch.

  9. In the Count box of the applicable line item, record the quantity of the product.
    The Change column of the line item shows the difference between the quantity of the Count column and the quantity of the In inventory column:

  10. Select Add new line.

    ezyVet adds a line item.
  11. Do steps 7 thru 10 again for the remaining products that you want to add.
ezyVet has an inventory count that is prepared for approval.
Do the procedure given in Approve an inventory count.
Note: After you approve an inventory count, you cannot:
  • Unapprove it
  • Deactivate it
  • Make changes to its information

Thus, if you approve an inventory count that is not accurate, you must make a different inventory count record with correct information.
