The Postcard mailing history screen gives easy visual access to data about the postcards that Vello mailed for your practice.

The postcard mailing history gives your practice easy access to data that you can use to:
  • Know the number of postcards that Vello mailed in a selected month
  • Know the number of postcards that Vello could not print or send as mail
  • See information about the clients that Vello mailed postcards to in a selected month
  • See the mailing status of postcards (for example, Mailed, Undeliverable)
  • Compare the postcards of the last 12 months

Postcard metrics

The Postcard mailing history screen includes metrics for:
  • Mailed postcards
  • Postcards that Vello could not print or send as mail

Postcards section
You can use the month filter or select a month directly in the chart to show data of one month of postcard mailing. You can get access to data of the current month and the previous 12 months.
Note: The current month shows MTD, and shows data for the current month up to today.
This table shows each metric and more information about it:
MetricInformation
Est. mailedThe Est. mailed total is an estimate of the number of postcards that Vello printed and mailed in the selected month. The total can change in the days after Vello mails the postcards. The Est. mailed total also counts the postcards with the status of Forwarded or Returned.
Note: The total is the same as the number of postcards that your practice pays for.
UndeliverableThe Undeliverable total shows the number of postcards that could not be printed or mailed.
Note: Your practice does not pay for postcards that Vello could not print or send as mail.

Mailed postcards and their status

The Recipients section shows each postcard that Vello mailed in a selected month.

Figure 2. Recipients section

Recipients section
You can use these filters to show different data in the Recipients section:
  • The Search clients or patients box to get access to the postcards of one client or patient
  • The All statuses box to show only the postcards with one status

This table gives each column shown in the Recipients section and the information that it shows:

ColumnInformation
Date mailedThe date that Vello mailed the postcard. If Vello did not print the postcard, the column shows a horizontal dash.
ClientThe name of the client that Vello sent the postcard to. If you deleted a client contact record in ezyVet, the column shows Deleted Client.
PatientThe names of the pets that the postcard is for. If a postcard is for more than one pet, the column shows the first two pets and a number for subsequent pets (for example, +2).
Mailing statusThe status of the postcard.
Note: The Recipients section does not show client addresses. To see an address, use the client contact record in ezyVet.

This table gives each mailing status, more information about it and next steps for your practice:

Mailing statusInformationNext step
MailedVello printed the postcard and mailed it to the address of the client. No step is necessary.
ForwardedVello mailed the postcard, and the postal service sent it to a new address of the client. It is possible that the client changed their address. Contact the client to confirm their address.
ReturnedVello mailed the postcard, but the postal service sent it back. As a result, the postcard may be returned to your practice.Contact the client to confirm their address.
UndeliverableVello did not print or mail the postcard, usually because the address was not correct. Your practice does not pay for the postcard.Correct the address in ezyVet.

The postal service can send a postcard back between 1 and 3 weeks after Vello mailed it. As a result, the status of a postcard can change from Mailed to Returned in the weeks that follow.

For some postcards, the postal service does not tell Vello when it sent the postcard back. Thus, for these postcards, the Mailed status does not confirm that the client received the postcard. International postcards and older postcards are examples.

CSV files of postcards

A practice manager can select Download CSV to get access to a CSV file of the postcard mailing history. The file has:
  • All of the postcards that the search and the filters show in the Recipients section
  • Postcards that do not show in the Recipients section
