ezyVet shows Warning: Storing card information after you save a patient record

Do this troubleshooting if you save a patient record and ezyVet shows this message: Warning: Storing card information is a major security risk. Remove any card information from the record or contact ezyVet support if you require assistance.

ezyVet thinks that you entered card information

ezyVet senses when you enter numbers with the same format as card information in these areas of a patient record:
  • The Animal Notes box
  • The Comments section

As a result, ezyVet shows a warning message when you save a patient record. This table shows the number formats that cause ezyVet to show the message:

Entered number formats that cause the error messageType of possible card information
  • Three-digit numbers
  • Four-digit numbers
Card security code (CVV, CVC, CID)
  • Eight-digit numbers
  • 10-digit numbers
Account number
16-digit numbers that uses one of these formats:
  • ####-####-####-####
  • #### #### #### ####
  • ################
Card number
Six-digit numbers that uses one of these formats:
  • ##-##-##
  • ## ## ##
Sort code

Remove the card information, then save the patient record

Important: For security, do not enter card information in the Animal Notes box or Comments section (for example, a card number or CVV).
