The Groupable setting of a tag category

Each tag category has a Groupable setting in its configuration. The Groupable setting controls if staff can use more than one tag of the tag category at the same time.

Groupable set to YES shows the tag category box of a contact record after a practice manager sets Groupable to YES. The box shows (Limit 1) and staff can only set one tag of the tag category.

Groupable set to NO shows the tag category box of a contact record after a practice manager sets Groupable to NO. Staff can set more than one tag of the tag category at the same time.

It is necessary for Callisto Vets to know which of its clients are in a related region. The region information is necessary for business intelligence reports. The practice manager:
  1. Makes a Customer region tag category
  2. Sets the Groupable setting of the tag category to YES

Then, they add new tags in the tag category. Each new tag has the name of an applicable region (for example, North Shore, Central and Wellington).

Then:
  1. The practice manager configures ezyVet to show the Customer region tag category in contact records
  2. They open each client contact record and add one tag that is applicable to the client's region

Result: When Callisto Vets does reporting, they can use the tag filters of the reports to easily get the region information of all clients.

Callisto Vets wants to add more than one of these reminder tags to applicable patient records:
  • Seniors
  • Arthritis injections
  • Dental check
The practice manager:
  1. Makes a Reminders tag category
  2. Sets the Groupable setting of the tag category to NO
Then the practice manager configures ezyVet to show the Reminders tag category in patient records. As a result:
  1. They can add more than one reminder tag to a patient record
  2. They can use the tag category and its tags to configure care service reminders
