The Hospital box and Department box shown in client contact records
In the General Information section of a client contact record, ezyVet can show a Department box, and always shows a Hospital box.
The Department box
If your ezyVet site has a department or business unit configuration, ezyVet automatically sets one of these for a new client contact record:
- Your organization's database
- A business unit of your organization
- A department of your organization
You can use the client's Department box information in different areas of ezyVet. For example, in the Records dashboard tab, you can use the Department filter to easily find client contact records of a department or business unit.
- The Department box does not show in a client contact record
- ezyVet automatically sets the client's department to your organization's database
The Hospital box
- The settings for the database
- The settings for a business unit
- The settings for a department
The selected hospital that ezyVet uses in a client contact record has a relation to the client's database, business unit, or department. The client's database, business unit, or department shows in the Department box of the client contact record.
The relation between the Department and Hospital boxes
- A client's database, business unit, or department as shown in the Department box

- That ezyVet uses to set the client's hospital
- That the Hospital box shows as a result

About changes to a contact record's Department and Hospital boxes
If the Department box shows an incorrect department, business unit or database for a client, you can use the box to select the correct one. As a result, the Hospital box automatically shows the hospitals that are available to select.
