Settings of a medication treatment

When you select a medication product in the Add Treatment pane, Vet Radar shows settings that you use to make sure that the treatment is correct for the patient.

This table shows each setting of the medication treatment and its function:
SettingFunction
CRIIf you enable CRI, Vet Radar uses the continuous rate of infusion (CRI) calculator. Vet Radar shows more settings that you can use to make sure that the treatment is correct for the patient.
Weight atUse Weight at to enter the patient weight. Weight at shows:
  • The patient weight
  • The date and time that a staff member recorded the patient weight
Route of administrationYou can select:
  • PO (Oral/Per Os)
  • IV (Intravenous)
  • SQ (Subcutaneous)
  • IM (Intramuscular)
  • IO (Intraosseus)
  • PI (Peri-Incisional)
  • IA (Intraarticular)
  • IN (Intranasal)
  • IU (Intrauterine)
  • IW (Intrawound)
  • SL (Sublingual)
  • Con. (Conjunctival)
  • OS (In the left eye)
  • OD (In the right eye)
  • OU (In both eyes)
  • AS (In left ear)
  • AD (in right ear)
  • AU (in both ears)
  • P.R. (Rectal)
  • TD (Transdermal)
  • NG (Nasogastric)
  • NE (Nasoesophageal)
  • PEG (PEG feeding tube)
  • E-Tube (Esophagostomy)
  • Local (Locoregional)
  • I Bur (in buretrol)
  • IBag (in bag)
  • Epidural
Dose Rate*Use Dose Rate* to enter the quantity of medication given to a patient at one time. Dose Rate* has related settings that you can use to:
  • Select the unit of measurement for the active ingredient of the medication
  • Select the unit of measurement for the weight of the patient
The available units of measurement for the active ingredient of the medication are:
  • ug
  • meg
  • mg
  • g
  • kg
  • lb
  • IU
  • mEq
  • mmol
The available units of measurement for the patient weight are:
  • / kg
  • / g
Total dosageUse Total dosage to enter the total quantity of the medication that you give to a patient in a period.
Total volumeUse Total volume to enter the total quantity of the product that you give to a patient in a period.
Qty billed per task*Use Qty billed per task* to enter the quantity of the product that ezyVet adds to the client's invoice.
Ignore concentrationIf you enable Ignore concentration , Vet Radar ignores the concentration of the medication that ezyVet syncs to Vet Radar. And you can manually enter the concentration.
Apply diluted concentrationIf you enable Apply diluted concentration, Vet Radar shows:
  • Original Concentration
  • Required ratio
  • Medication Volume*
  • Diluted concentration*
  • Dilutent Volume
Original Concentration shows the concentration of the product.
Required ratioUse Required ratio to:
  • Enter the proportion of the medication that you used
  • Enter the proportion of the liquid that you used to dilute the medication
Medication Volume*Use Medication Volume* to enter the total volume of the medication.
Diluted concentration*Use Diluted concentration* to enter the total volume of the diluted concentration.
Dilutent VolumeUse Dilutent Volume to enter the total volume of the liquid that you used to dilute the medication.
This table shows information about the settings of the treatment tasks in the Add medication pane:
SettingFunction
NameThe name that identifies the treatment.
Task scheduleThe Task schedule setting controls the scheduled tasks for the treatment. The Task schedule setting has different functions for related conditions.
Condition 1: Task schedule is set to No Tasks.

Result: When you add the treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar does not schedule a treatment task.

Condition 2: Task schedule is set to Single Task.
  1. You set the Start at setting
  2. You set the Treatment window (each) setting

Result: When you add the treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar puts one scheduled treatment task in the patient sheet.

Condition 3: Task schedule is set to Repeating Tasks.
  1. You set the Repeating setting
  2. You set the Repeat until setting
  3. You set the Start At setting
  4. You set the Treatment Window (each) setting

Result: When you add the treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar puts the scheduled treatment tasks in the patient sheet until the time that you selected in step 2.

Start atThe Start at setting controls when the scheduled treatment tasks start. The Start at setting has different functions for related conditions.
Condition 1: Start at is set to now.

Result: When you add the treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar starts the scheduled treatment task immediately.

Condition 2: Start at is set to date/time.
  1. You select the date
  2. You select the time

Result: When you add the treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar schedules the treatment task for the selected time.

RepeatingThe Repeating setting controls how frequently the treatment tasks occur. You can select:
  • 5 m
  • 10 m
  • 15 m
  • 20 m
  • 30 m
  • 1 hour
  • 1.5 hours
  • 2 hours
  • 3 hours
  • 4 hours
  • 5 hours
  • 6 hours
  • 8 hours
  • 12 hours
  • 24 hours
  • 36 hours
  • 48 hours
  • 72 hours
Repeat untilThe Repeat until setting controls when recurring treatment tasks stop. The Repeat until setting has different functions for related conditions.
Condition 1: Repeat until is set to discharge.

Result: When you add the treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar continues to schedule treatment tasks until you discharge the patient.

Condition 2: Repeat until is set to date/time.
  1. You select the date
  2. You select the time

Result: When you add the treatment to the patient sheet, Vet Radar schedules treatment tasks until the selected date and time.

Treatment Window (each)The Treatment Window (each) setting controls the time that staff have to complete a treatment task. Vet Radar uses a box to show the treatment task in the patient sheet. The width of the box identifies the time that staff have to complete the treatment task. You can select:
  • 5 m
  • 10 m
  • 15 m
  • 30 m
  • 1 hour
  • 2 hours
  • 3 hours
  • 4 hours
  • 5 hours
  • 6 hours
  • 12 hours
  • 24 hours
Send billing to ezyVetIf you enable the Send billing to ezyVet setting, Vet Radar sends the invoice information to ezyVet.
Auto CompletedIf you enable the Auto Completed setting, Vet Radar automatically completes the scheduled treatment tasks at the end of the treatment window.
InstructionsEnter text to give other staff more information about the treatment task.
Mark instructions as importantIf you enable the Mark instructions as important setting, Vet Radar puts a flag icon adjacent to the treatment in the patient sheet:
The important notes flag

The flag icon identifies that the treatment has important notes.
