Release notes: ezyVet version 45.2

ezyVet version 45.2 is available from June 16, 2026.

Changes to password controls in inherited sites

In ezyVet version 45.1 and subsequent versions, password controls in inherited sites show differently. If you configured sync settings of centralized inheritance to always sync passwords of user account records from a central site to an inherited site:
  • In the user account record of an inherited site, it is not possible to select the Reset Password button
  • In the user account record of an inherited site, the Reset Password button shows dimmed
  • When you hover over Reset Password in an inherited site, ezyVet shows this message: Password is centrally managed and cannot be reset on this site
Previously, in an applicable record of an inherited site, you could select Reset Password. After you selected Reset Password:
  • ezyVet showed an empty System Password box
  • You could not enter text in the System Password box

Changes to Batch-Tracked Product Containers (pilot feature)

ezyVet version 45.2 has a new {ContainedProductNames} template variable that you can use to show the name of each product in a product container. If the product container includes more than one product, the variable output puts a comma between product names.

Batch-Tracked Product Containers and Easy Clinical Notes (pilot features): When these conditions agree, ezyVet automatically prints a rabies vaccination certificate that shows the batch number and expiration date of the applicable rabies vaccine batch:
  1. A practice manager configured a document template for rabies vaccination certificates to include the template variables {BatchNumber} and {BatchExpiry}.
  2. A practice manager configured the product record of a batch-tracked rabies vaccine to automatically print a vaccination certificate after invoice approval.
  3. A practice manager configured a product container to include a batch-tracked vaccine product.
  4. To add the product container to a clinical record and related invoice, you use the clinical record's Tx plan pane.
  5. To approve the invoice line item of the product container, you select the approve button in the Tx plan pane.
  6. In the Batches pop-up window that shows, you do a check of the batch information, then select Done.
  7. In the Update Rabies Tag Data pop-up window that shows, you enter the rabies tag number in the Rabies Number box.
  8. You select Change.
Previously:
  • ezyVet did not automatically print a rabies vaccination certificate after you selected the approve button in the Tx plan pane
  • ezyVet only automatically printed a rabies vaccination certificate after you approved an applicable invoice line item or invoice in the invoicing screen
  • Rabies vaccination certificates did not show correct output for the template variables {BatchNumber} and {BatchExpiry}

Changes to batch selection for medications and vaccinations

In Medication Prescription dialog boxes and Restricted Veterinary Medicine Prescription dialog boxes, ezyVet shows a Batch box only when the Dispense box value is more than 1. Previously, ezyVet showed the Batch box when the Dispense box value was 0 and it was not necessary to select a batch.

When you use these dialog boxes to dispense a batch-tracked product, ezyVet automatically changes the batch quantity to be equal to the dispense quantity:
  • Medication Prescription
  • Restricted Veterinary Medicine Prescription
  • Vaccination
  • New Vaccination
Note: If you dispense items from more than one batch of the same product, you can manually change each batch quantity.

In Restricted Veterinary Medicine Prescription dialog boxes, the area around batch selection boxes does not show a light gray color. Previously, the area around the boxes showed a light gray color.

Changes to estimates

The estimate screen has a new Send email button. You can select Send email to send an email message with the estimate to the client. Previously, to send an estimate to the client, it was necessary to:
  1. Select Share with client
  2. Select Save
  3. Select Send email

The name of the Sales template button changed to Add sales template.

Changes to client contact records

When you save a client contact record, ezyVet makes sure that:
  1. Mobile phone numbers that you entered are valid
  2. Mobile phone numbers that you entered have the correct format
If you try to save a client contact record that has an invalid mobile phone number or an incorrect format, ezyVet:
  • Shows you an error message to tell you
  • Does not save the client contact record until you enter a valid mobile phone number in the correct format

Changes to inventory counts

You can upload a CSV file to ezyVet to do an inventory count. To know how to use a CSV file for an inventory count, refer to Do an inventory count (CSV file method).

You can deactivate all inventory counts that are not approved. Previously, you could not deactivate some unapproved inventory counts (for example, inventory counts that had a relation to a deactivated inventory location).

Changes to the ezyVet calendar (new calendar design only)

ezyVet version 45.2 has a new Show planning guides setting in the calendar controls. The setting changes how a calendar shows planning guides:
  • When a calendar is in appointment mode and you select Show planning guides, the planning guides show with a transparent color:
    Show planning guides setting selected
  • When a calendar is in appointment mode and you do not select Show planning guides, ezyVet does not show the planning guides:
Show planning guides setting not selected
Note: Only staff members with the Administration > Add/Edit Calendar Planning Guides user account permission can use the setting.
The ezyVet calendar controls show a new High contrast mode setting. When you select High contrast mode:
  • ezyVet shows calendar appointments with colors that have more contrast
  • ezyVet automatically changes the text color of calendar appointments to have good contrast
  • ezyVet keeps your selection when you sign in again
Figure 1. Calendar appointments: High contrast mode not selected and selected
Calendar appointments with High contrast mode not selected and with High contrast mode selected
Note: ezyVet removes the Use contrast font color setting from appointment type records. High contrast mode replaces that setting.

Fixes for (pilot feature)

Easy Clinical Notes (pilot feature): ezyVet replaces tags that it incorrectly removed in a previous version of ezyVet.

Easy Clinical Notes (pilot feature): When you add a rabies product in a plan, ezyVet shows an Update Rabies Tag Data dialog box in the tab or device where you invoiced the product. Previously, ezyVet showed the dialog box in each device or tab where you were signed in to ezyVet.

Other changes

Vello text messaging: When you enter a valid mobile phone number in a client contact record, ezyVet saves the phone number in a format that Vello can correctly use for text messaging. Previously, ezyVet could save a mobile phone number in a format that was not correct. As a result, Vello could not use the phone number for text messaging.

The Inventory Take report has a new Batch column. In the initial report output, the Batch column always shows empty. If you use the output as a template to do a CSV file import for an inventory count, enter batch numbers for each batch-tracked product.

When your practice receives inventory, you cannot select an expired batch in the received inventory record. As an alternative, select a batch that is not expired, or make a batch.

When these conditions agree, ezyVet correctly shows a received invoice record as approved:
  1. You add a received invoice record to a received inventory record
  2. You approve the received invoice record
  3. You add one more received invoice record to the received inventory record that has the same invoice number as the initial received invoice record
  4. You approve the second received invoice record

Previously, ezyVet showed the second received invoice record as not saved and not approved.

Fix for batch selection in inventory adjustments and received inventory records

After you do these steps to add or change a batch, ezyVet saves the batch information:
  1. You double-click in the Batch box of a line item
  2. In the dialog box that opens, you enter batch information
  3. You select Done
Previously, after you used a dialog box to add or change a batch, ezyVet:
  • Saved the batch information but showed an error message that told you that it did not save the information
  • Did not show the batch information that you added or changed

Fix for inventory counts

After you select Unallocated as the batch of a line item of an inventory count, you can approve the inventory count. Previously, after you selected Unallocated:
  • You could not approve the inventory count
  • ezyVet showed an error message
Note: If you select Unallocated as the batch of a line item of an inventory count, the Count box shows 0 and you cannot change it.

Fix for the Wellness Outstanding Payments report

After you record payments for invoices of many wellness plan memberships, ezyVet correctly clears the selection of those invoices. Previously, ezyVet kept the invoices selected when these conditions agreed:

  1. You selected Outstanding and Queued in the filter
  2. You selected all invoices
  3. You recorded payments for those invoices

As a result, it was possible to record a payment for the same invoices again from a later page and make duplicate payment records.

Fix for the Records dashboard tab

When you try to use the Records dashboard tab to change the product supplier information of many product records, ezyVet changes the applicable information. If a product record has the same product supplier information before you try to change it, ezyVet:
  • Does not change the product record's product supplier information
  • Shows a message with the name of each product record that ezyVet did not change

Previously, if a product record had the same product supplier information before you tried to change it, ezyVet changed none of the product records.

Fix for communication tasks

If a general problem stops a communication task, ezyVet keeps the Automatically Run setting of the task at YES. Previously, after a general problem stopped a communication task three times, ezyVet:
  • Changed the Automatically Run setting of the task to NO
  • Did not send more client messages for the task

Fix for in-person communication in a patient record

If the text record of an in-person communication contains an emoji, ezyVet:
  • Removes the emoji from the text record
  • Correctly keeps the text of the communication in the text record

Previously, ezyVet did not keep the text that showed after the emoji.

Fixes for tagging tasks

When you add a Product Group Invoiced filter to the Excluding section, ezyVet correctly ignores records that agree with the filter when you start a tagging task. Previously, ezyVet incorrectly added a tag to records that you configured ezyVet to ignore.

After you save a tagging task, ezyVet correctly keeps the department that you selected in the For Department box of the Has Balance filter. Previously, ezyVet changed the value in the For Department box.

Fixes for the online portal

If you use more than one integration (for example, the ezyVet Kiosk integration and ezyVet's e-booking integration), ezyVet correctly uses the Buffer between appointment times (Minutes) setting that you configured for your site's e-booking system. Previously, ezyVet incorrectly used the period between available appointment times from a different integration that was not configured for the online portal.

When a client uses the online portal, ezyVet correctly uses the period between available appointment times during which clients cannot make an appointment. Previously, ezyVet did not use the period between appointments of different appointment types. And a client could make an appointment in the period between appointments.

Fixes for reporting in central sites

If you select Localised in the Run Report As.. section of settings screens for these reports, ezyVet keeps your selection:
  • The Payment Revenue By Group report
  • The Invoice Revenue By Group report

And if you select Localised, ezyVet does not show the Centralised Sites To Report On section.

Previously, if you tried to select Localised, ezyVet:
  • Changed the selection to Multi-Site
  • Showed the Centralised Sites To Report On section

Fixes for invoice approval of products that have a service fee

After you approve an invoice line item for a rabies vaccine, ezyVet correctly does these one time:
  • Shows an Update Rabies Tag Data dialog box
  • Prints the rabies vaccination certificate

Previously, if the rabies vaccine had a service fee, ezyVet showed the pop-up window two times and printed the certificate two times.

For other products that have a service fee, ezyVet correctly prints a configured document one time. Previously, ezyVet printed the document two times.

Other fixes

The output of the Inventory Movement report correctly includes deactivated products that moved during the selected date range. Previously, the output did not include deactivated products.

When you configure inventory threshold settings for a product, you can set an end date that is in the next year. Previously, if you set an end date that was in the next year, ezyVet did not add the necessary quantity of the product to an inventory order.

After you enter a batch name, ezyVet keeps the text capitalization that you entered. Previously, ezyVet incorrectly changed the name to all capital letters.

Received inventory records for batch-tracked products: You cannot save changes to a batch-tracked product's Received Qty column unless you also make the same changes to the Batch column. Previously, you could save changes to only the Received Qty column, which caused incorrect inventory data.

Inventory Take report: When you select the Products With Tag box, ezyVet shows all active tags as available to select. Previously, ezyVet did not show some active tags.

After your ezyVet site changes from a single site configuration to a business unit configuration, ezyVet keeps estimates in their applicable business units. Previously, if you saved an estimate again that you made before the configuration change:
  1. ezyVet removed the estimate's connection to the business unit
  2. ezyVet connected the estimate to the database
  3. When you signed in to a business unit, the estimate did not show in clinical records

Clients can draw an electronic signature in a remote form that they open with their mobile device. Previously, the draw area was too small to use.

The Performance Summary report correctly shows output if you set Date period type in the report settings to Weekly. Previously the report output intermittently showed zero values for some report data.

Product merges and other queued background tasks could stall — taking a very long time or never finishing — after the system had been idle for a while. Queued work is now picked up promptly, so these tasks complete normally.

Template editor: Tables that you add with the template editor correctly show borders in PDF output. Previously, the borders did not show.

Line item prices shown in invoices in the online portal include tax. The tax for the line item prices also agrees with the tax shown in the same invoices in the invoicing screen in ezyVet. Previously, the online portal invoices did not include tax for the line items.

If different file formats are available for a report, ezyVet automatically selects a report file format in the report settings. Previously, ezyVet did not select a file format. As a result, ezyVet did not show the report output until you manually selected a file format in the report settings.

Twig template variables: When ezyVet calculates the {{ invoice.NonBundleTotalDiscount }} and {{ invoice.NonBundleTotalDiscountIncTax }} in invoice templates, ezyVet does not include discounts for fixed-price product bundles. Previously, ezyVet included discounts for fixed-price product bundles when it calculated the variables.

IDEXX Telemedicine: ezyVet does a check for a result for a diagnostic imaging request and submits the case to VetMedStat immediately if these conditions agree:
  1. You add or make changes to a diagnostic interpretation request
  2. The diagnostic interpretation request is related to the diagnostic imaging request
  3. A result exists for the diagnostic imaging request

Previously, ezyVet only submitted the case when a result arrived after you connected the interpretation request.
