Communication recordsCopy

A communication record is a record of a message that you used ezyVet to make or send. For example, after you use ezyVet to send an email, ezyVet makes and keeps a communication record of the email. Communication records help make sure that your organization has records of which clients you send messages to and the message information.

Other record typesCopy

If ezyVet keeps an item of information and you can access it at a different time, the item is usually a type of record. For example, these items of information that you frequently use are records:
  • Products
  • Templates
  • Configured tax rates
  • User accounts
  • Appointment types
  • Appointment statuses

ezyVet has many other different types of records.

Record propertiesCopy

A record property is an item of configuration data of a record. A record property controls how persons can use the record and its related information. A practice manager usually configures record properties.
Figure 1. Example of records that have record properties

Example of records that have record properties
ExampleThe practice manager of Callisto Vets makes a decision that all contact records must have date-of-birth information. This is because some staff do not enter date-of-birth information, which causes inaccurate report data.

The practice manager uses ezyVet's system settings to get access to the record properties of contact records. To make sure that contact records always have a date-of-birth information, they set a mandatory Date of Birth record property.

As a result, staff cannot save a contact record unless it has date-of-birth information.

Record linksCopy

Each ezyVet record usually has a related record link. The record link is a dedicated link to the record. If you put a record link in the address bar of your web browser, your browser opens the record in ezyVet directly.

Record links make it easy to send records to other staff members of your organization. For example, you can send a link to a clinical record in a memo.

Record links are also useful for ezyVet customer support. For example, you can put a link to an applicable record in a ticket when you speak to ezyVet customer support.
