The Records dashboard tab

Filters of the Records dashboard tab

The Records dashboard tab has many filters that can help you to easily find records.

After you find the records, you can change the data of some or all of the records. The Records dashboard tab shows filters that are applicable to the record type that you select. For example, if you select the Address record type, ezyVet shows filters that include the address and post code. Or if you select the Invoice record type, ezyVet shows filters that include the approval date and payment terms.

For a given record type, you can select many filters at the same time. This helps you find records with very good precision. For example, you can use filters to find all approved invoices of a given salesperson with payment terms of seven days only.

Some filters have more settings. For example, the Date filter has mathematical comparison settings that you can use to select applicable date ranges:

Record filter rules

The filters area of the Records dashboard tab has three sections:
  • All
  • Any
  • Excluding

This table gives the function of each section:
SectionFunction
AllezyVet only shows records that agree with all of the filters that you add in this section.
For example:
  1. You add an Approved filter.
  2. You add an InvoiceSalesPerson filter and set the person to Christina Langley.

Result: ezyVet shows only approved invoices of the salesperson Christina Langley. (ezyVet does not show unapproved invoices of the salesperson Christina Langley.)

AnyezyVet shows records that agree with one of the filters that you add in this section.
For example:
  1. You add an Approved filter and set it to Yes.
  2. You add an InvoiceSalesPerson filter and set the person to Christina Langley.
Result: ezyVet shows:
  • Approved invoices of the salesperson Christina Langley
  • Approved invoices of different salespersons
ExcludingezyVet ignores records that agree with the filters that you select in this section.
For example:
  1. In the All section, you add an Approved filter and set it to Yes.
  2. In the Excluding section, you add an InvoiceSalesPerson filter and set the person to Christina Langley.

Result: ezyVet shows all approved invoices of salespersons who are not Christina Langley.

Saved filter sets

You can add many filters in each Any, All, and Excluding section of the Records dashboard tab. Many filters can help you find records with very good precision. After you add the filters, you can make a saved filter set. A saved filter set is one set of filters that you can easily select and use to find records. The next time that it is necessary to find the same records, you can select the saved filter set. Thus, it is not necessary to manually add the same filters to the Records dashboard tab again and again.

The Records dashboard tab shows saved filter sets in the Saved Filters section:
The Saved Filters section
When you make a saved filter set, you can make the set available to your user account only. Or you can make it available to all persons who use the ezyVet site. To show filters of your user account only, select the For User option of the Saved Filters section. And to show saved filter sets that all persons can use, select the Global option.
Note: To make a saved filter set that all persons can use, it is only necessary to have access to the Records dashboard tab. ezyVet does not have a dedicated user account permission that controls saved filter sets.
Note: You cannot change the name of a saved filter set. To change the name, you must make and save a filter set that has the different name.
