Configuration settings for appointment types

Before a practice manager configures an appointment type, it is important to know the function of its settings.

Appointment type settings
This table gives each setting and its function:
PropertyFunction
Booking groupUse Booking group to select a appointment booking group. Staff can use appointment booking groups to quickly and easily do reporting of many appointments at the same time.
OrderUse Order to control the sequence that ezyVet uses to show appointment types in its user interface.
Default lengthUse Default length to set the period that new appointments of the appointment type automatically use. For example, new appointments that staff make with the Consult appointment type can automatically have a period of 15 minutes.
Appointment colorUse Appointment color to set the color of the appointment type as shown in calendar appointments.
Needs a clientIf you set Needs a client to YES, a staff member must select a client when they make an appointment.
Note: Most of the configuration settings for an appointment type only show after you set Needs a client to YES.
Needs a patientIf you set Needs a patient to YES, a staff member must select a patient when they make an appointment.
Send confirmationezyVet shows Send confirmation if you set Needs a patient to YES. If you set Send confirmation to YES, ezyVet can send appointment confirmation messages for appointments of the appointment type.
Includes a consent formezyVet shows Includes a consent form if you set Send confirmation to YES. If you set Includes a consent form to YES:
  • An appointment confirmation message can include a remote consent form
  • ezyVet shows a Consent form template box that you use to select an applicable document template or email template for the form
Needs a clinical recordezyVet shows Needs a clinical record if you set Needs a patient to YES. If you set Needs a clinical record to YES, an appointment always has a related clinical record. You can also enter other clinical record information when you make the appointment (for example, a case owner and presenting problems).
Requires a reason to cancelIf you set Requires a reason to cancel to YES, a staff member must give information about why it is necessary to cancel the appointment.
Display client's addressIf you set Display client's address to YES, you can select a client address when you make an appointment.
Note: This setting does not show or hide the client address of the appointment as shown in the calendar.
Charge travel feeIf you want ezyVet to automatically invoice the client for appointment travel, set Charge travel fee to YES. After you set Charge travel fee to YES, ezyVet shows boxes that you can use to select a billing trigger product for travel costs.
