About medication dispense types
ezyVet shows different dispense types that identify how a patient got a medication. For example, if a patient took a medication at your practice.
Dispense types in the Medication tab of a patient record
A table in the Medication tab of a patient record shows labels to identify the dispense type of each medication.
You can use a filter to select which medications show in the table. If necessary, use the filter to show only medications of a dispense type.

| Administered | Administered | The patient took the medication at your practice. | 
| Dispensed | No label | The patient got the medication from your pharmacy. | 
| External dispense | External Prescription | The patient got the medication from a different pharmacy. | 
| Historical | Historical | The patient previously took the medication, but does not take the medication at this time. | 
Dispense types in the Medication Prescription dialog box
When you make a medication prescription in the Medication tab of a patient record, you can select a dispense type in the Dispense Type section. This table gives each selection and its definition:
