About species and breed mapping of diagnostics integrations

Do species and breed mapping to make a relation between the species and breeds of a diagnostics integration and the equivalent species and breed records in ezyVet. Species and breed mapping is necessary for the correct and accurate function of diagnostics integrations.

Most diagnostics integrations have species and breeds from the applicable diagnostics supplier. Your ezyVet site also has records for species and breeds. But the names and spelling of the species and breeds of the diagnostics integration and the ezyVet records are usually different. Species and breed mapping makes sure that the name of each species and breed of the diagnostics integration has the correct relation with the species and breed records in ezyVet.

For example, a diagnostics integration could have an English Cocker Spaniel breed. But your ezyVet site could have a breed record for a Cocker Spaniel. Diagnostics breed mapping makes a relation between the English Cocker Spaniel breed of the diagnostics integration and the Cocker Spaniel breed record of ezyVet.

Species and breed mapping makes sure that diagnostics test results and ranges are applicable to the correct species or breed. For example, a PCV blood test has different results for cats and dogs.

Practice managers do species and breed mapping for each diagnostics integration of your site. As a result, each diagnostic request that staff make for the applicable diagnostics supplier has the correct relations to species and breeds. If a diagnostics integration does not have the necessary species and breed mapping, ezyVet tells you to manually do it when you make a diagnostic request. Species and breed boxes of a diagnostic test request shows a dialog box of a diagnostic request that tells a staff member to manually do species and breed mapping for a species and breed. To tell the staff member, the dialog box shows two boxes that they use to select the applicable species and breed.

Note: If you do species and breed mapping during a diagnostic request, ezyVet keeps the species and breed mapping only for the applicable patient. ezyVet does not make the species and breed mapping for all species and breeds of the diagnostics integration.
