Vello online booking for hospitals with many departments: Configure a visit type to use direct booking

If your ezyVet hospital has more than one department and you want to use direct booking for a visit type, a practice manager must complete the necessary configuration. As a result, clients can schedule an appointment directly in a department calendar of your hospital.

To configure a visit type directly in Vello, do this procedure.
Note: This procedure makes the visit type available for clients in the Vello client portal.
Note: As an alternative to this method, a practice manager can use ezyVet planning guides to configure available times for a visit type. For more information, refer to the applicable documentation.
  1. Select Admin.

  2. In the settings list, select Integration.

  3. Select Vello.

    If your ezyVet site has only one configured hospital, ezyVet shows the hospital name. But if your site has more than one configured hospital, ezyVet shows a list of hospitals.
  4. Select the arrow for the applicable hospital.

  5. Select Manage Settings.

  6. In the left sidebar, select Appointment Booking.
    Note: If the left sidebar is closed, select the appointment booking button:

  7. Set Online Appointment Booking to Enable.

  8. In the Appointment Categories section, select the pencil button for the applicable visit type.

  9. If you want to change the name of the visit type, use the Client-Friendly Appointment Name box.

  10. In the Online Booking Type section, select Direct Booking.
  11. In the Configure Availability section, select Manual Configuration.
  12. In Book to Appointment Type, select the applicable appointment type that you want available for clients.
  13. Set Default Appointment Length to the applicable time.
  14. In the Department Selection box, select the department that clients can schedule the visit type with.

  15. In the Days section, set available time ranges for each day.

    Tip: You can set more than one time range for one day.
  16. In the Provider Availability section, select the staff members and rooms that you want to make available.

    Note: If you do not want a staff member to show as available for appointment requests, deactivate the Enable setting.
  17. Select Done.

The visit type is available with the Vello client portal. And clients can schedule an appointment directly in the department calendar that you selected in step 14.
Note: The Vello client portal does not show departments to clients for appointments. The client portal only shows the hospital that you selected in step 4.
You can do this procedure again to configure direct booking for other visit types. For example, you can do the procedure again for sick visits.
