About clinical layouts

A clinical layout is a feature that you can use to show the most applicable record types and related information in a clinical record.

A clinical record has many related record types. The record types include:
  • History
  • Pertinent History
  • Physical Exam
  • Therapeutic / Procedure
A clinical record puts information of each record type in a dedicated section. And each section has a related button with the name of the record type. When you select a button, ezyVet shows the section. This image shows the applicable buttons:

For some patients, a clinical record can have a very large quantity of clinical information in many sections. As a result, staff must go to many different sections to get access to the information.

You can use a clinical layout to decrease the time necessary to get access to clinical record information. A clinical layout is a configuration of the buttons that show the sections. A practice manager uses a clinical layout to control if each button is automatically selected. When a staff member makes a clinical record that uses a clinical layout, ezyVet automatically selects the buttons and shows the related sections. Thus, it is not necessary for the staff member to select each button each time.

Clinical layout example shows the relation between a configured clinical layout and a clinical record that uses the clinical layout. The configured clinical layout has four sections selected. The clinical record that uses the clinical layout automatically has the four related buttons selected. And the selected buttons automatically show each related section.

Note: A practice manager cannot make different clinical layouts for different departments. As a result, all departments have access to all clinical layouts.
