ezyVet shows Preferred reminder method needs to be defined when you try to save a staff contact record

Do this troubleshooting if ezyVet shows Contact: Preferred Reminder Method needs to be defined when you try to save a staff contact record:

The record properties of a contact record have an incorrect setting

The record properties of a contact record include a Preferred Reminder Method setting:
The Preferred Reminder Method property
If a practice manager sets Preferred Reminder Method to Required, ezyVet will show the error and you cannot save the staff contact record.
Note: ezyVet will let a practice manager set Preferred Reminder Method to Required. But if they do, ezyVet will always show the error and you cannot save the contact record. Thus, ezyVet has no method to set a preferred reminder method that is mandatory for a staff contact record.

Make the correct settings

A practice manager or a person with the necessary administrator permissions must do these steps.

  1. Select Admin.
    The Admin tab
  2. In the settings list, select Settings.
    The Settings setting in the settings list
  3. Select Record Properties.
    The Record Properties setting
  4. Select Properties: Contact.
    The Properties: Contact setting
    ezyVet shows the properties of contact records.
  5. Clear the Required checkbox of the Preferred Reminder Method setting.
  6. Select Save.
    The Save button
