Release notes: ezyVet version 45.6

ezyVet version 45.6 is available from August 11, 2026.

Changes to inventory settings of product records

When you change the inventory tracking setting of a batch-tracked product record from Batch to Product, ezyVet shows a confirmation pop-up window. The pop-up window tells you about changes to the batches of the product that ezyVet will make. If you select Continue, ezyVet makes these changes for each inventory location:
  • Uses the total quantity of all batches to calculate the product's inventory level
  • Changes the quantity of each batch to zero
  • Deactivates each batch

Previously, after you changed the inventory tracking setting, ezyVet kept the batch quantities. As a result, the product could have an incorrect inventory level.

Change: Undo a batch replacement

After you replace a batch with a different batch, a Edit batch dialog box shows a new Replace history table. The Replace history table shows in the Edit batch dialog box for:
  • A batch that you replaced with a different batch in the ezyVet hospital that you are signed in to
  • A batch that you used to replace a different batch in the hospital that you are signed in to
For each replacement, the Replace history table shows:
  • The date of the replacement
  • The date that a staff member selected Undo, if applicable
  • If the batch was replaced, or was the replacement
  • The name of the other batch
  • The status of the replacement (for example, Active or Undone)
  • The related inventory adjustment
To remove a replacement, select Undo in the applicable row of the Replace history table. Then, in the pop-up window that ezyVet shows, select Undo replace. After you select Undo, ezyVet:
  • Moves the batch quantity back to the initial batch
  • Changes the relation of other records back to the initial batch
  • Removes the inventory adjustment that changed the batch quantity to zero
  • Changes the status of the replacement to Undone
  • Shows Replace By... for the batch again
Note: The Replace history table shows Undo only for a replacement that has the Active status.

If a batch has no replacements in the hospital that you are signed in to, the Edit batch dialog box does not show the Replace history table.

The Replace history table does not show replacements of a hospital that you are not signed in to. You cannot remove replacement information from the the Replace history table.

Changes to the user change log

The change log of a user account shows changes to the settings of the user account. For each change, the change log shows:
  • The name of the setting
  • The new value of the setting
  • The date and time of the change
  • The person who did the change

Change to the Inventory Value report

The Inventory Value report has a new Use current cost price checkbox. If you select Use current cost price, the report output uses the cost price of the product record. The report output multiplies the inventory level of each product by the cost price. The report output does not calculate a weighted average cost price from your inventory records.

If you select Use current cost price, the report output also:
  • Shows Current Cost Price Per Unit as the name of the cost column
  • Does not show the Current Unit Cost column
  • Shows a value of $0.00 and a star symbol ( ★ ) for each product record that has no cost price

If you save a scheduled report with Use current cost price selected, each report output uses the cost price of the product record.

Change to received inventory records

Received inventory records: If a line item's batch quantity is not equal to its received quantity, ezyVet cannot save a received inventory record. If you try to save the record:
  • ezyVet shows an error message
  • The line item shows a red color
  • The batch quantity box has a red border
  • ezyVet moves the screen to show the applicable line item

After you change an applicable entry in the line item, ezyVet removes the red color and border. Previously, ezyVet only showed the error message.

Changes to user interface controls for integration passwords, client secrets, and keys

Note: The changes are available from August 27, 2026 (New Zealand Standard Time).
In settings of standard product supplier integrations (SPSI) and standard diagnostics integrations (SPI), ezyVet has changes to interface controls. If you enter one of these types of information in a settings box, you can use a new eye button to show or hide the information that you enter:
  • Passwords
  • Integration keys
  • API keys
  • Client secrets
  • Tokens

Previously, you could not see the information that you entered in an integration settings box.

Google Maps integration: Adjacent to the Google Maps API Key box, ezyVet has a new checkbox. Use the checkbox to replace an API key that you entered with ezyVet's standard API key for the integration. After you select the checkbox:
  • To keep the standard API key, do not enter a value in the box, then select Save
  • To replace the standard API key, enter a new API key, then select Save

Change to inventory adjustments of deactivated batches

When you deactivate a batch, ezyVet adds an inventory adjustment. You cannot unapprove or deactivate the inventory adjustment. ezyVet shows the Unapprove and Disable buttons, but you cannot select them. ezyVet shows a message that tells you why.

The condition is not applicable to:

  • An inventory adjustment that a staff member added
  • An inventory adjustment that ezyVet added before ezyVet version 45.6

Other changes

For inventory information, ezyVet uses the product name and product code from the product record. When you change the name or the code of a product, ezyVet shows the change in inventory information immediately. You can search by the product name or product code. The search is not case-sensitive.

The Communication tab and the Products Purchased section of the Related Records tab of a client contact record open faster.

ezyVet version 45.6 has better performance for price adjustment rules in invoices.

Minimum Sell Price (pilot feature): Records dashboard tab: The Copy Department Pricing> bulk action opens a Copy Department Pricing dialog box that includes a Minimum Sell Price column. Use the column to copy or clear the minimum sell price of selected products when you copy pricing between departments or business units. To keep the recorded minimum sell price of the products that you copy the pricing to, leave the column empty. To clear the minimum sell price, enter 0 in the column.

In the Attachment tab of a patient record, you can add more than one file attachment at a time more quickly. Previously, ezyVet did a refresh of the Attachments section and showed the primary image again after you added each file.

Fix for document batch variables

When you make a document in a clinical record, the standard of care batch template variables show batch data. The batch data is from the contained items of a product container. The template variables show this data:
  • The {AnimalLast<care-service-name><care-service-type>Batch} and {AnimalLast<care-service-name><care-service-type>BatchExpiry} template variables show the batch of the first batch-tracked item in the product container.
  • A new template variable, {AnimalLast<care-service-name><care-service-type>BatchNumberAndExpiry}, shows all batches and their expiration dates. A comma divides each batch.

Previously, these template variables did not show batch data when you made a document in a clinical record.

Fix for duplicated document styling

ezyVet keeps a document’s styling one time only. Each time you save a record, ezyVet keeps a single copy of the hidden styling and the page header and footer information. Previously, ezyVet copied the styling each time you saved a record or pasted content into it. Affected document types include:
  • Discharge summary
  • Clinical summary
  • Document template
  • Email
The duplicated styling increased the size of a record. As a result, affected records could:
  • Load slowly
  • Show as empty
  • Lose content
  • Not open
  • Print incorrectly

The next time you save an affected record, ezyVet reduces the duplicated styling to a single copy. The duplicate copies can be in different positions in the record. As a result, records stop growing. The appearance of a document does not change. The wording and content of any message that ezyVet sent before also does not change.

ezyVet also corrected these existing affected records:
  • Documents
  • Discharge summary content
  • Saved document templates
  • Saved communications
The content of these records shows correctly again. Corrected records show the correction in their history, and do not attribute it to a staff member.
Note: A small number of records that reached the maximum storage size before the correction can still show missing content. If you find one of these records, contact ezyVet customer support.

Fixes for user account records

When you save changes to a user account, ezyVet keeps the settings of the settings tabs that you did not open. ezyVet changes each setting independently. Previously, ezyVet could permanently remove the settings of a settings tab that you did not open.

ezyVet sends memo notifications that agree with the memo settings of a user account. Previously, if a staff member did not change their account's memo settings, the user account showed All, but ezyVet did not send memos about:
  • Diagnostic requests
  • Reports
  • Claim updates
  • Claim pre-approvals

The change log of a user account opens correctly when it has an entry for a primary role that is not a role name in ezyVet. The change log shows the recorded value. Previously, the change log did not open.

When you select the browser Back button after a different staff member signs in, ezyVet shows the sign-in screen. As a result, ezyVet records invoice changes against the staff member who is signed in. Previously, the browser could show a screen from the previous staff member. As a result, ezyVet could record invoice changes against that staff member.

Fixes for the template editor

In the template editor, when you select Enter on the keyboard, ezyVet moves the cursor to the new line. Previously, ezyVet added formatting that was not necessary and kept the cursor on the previous line. As a result, it was necessary to select Enter again to start a new line.

When you enter a shorthand text item and select Enter on the keyboard, ezyVet correctly replaces the shorthand text item with the replacement text. ezyVet replaces the shorthand text item on each line of a paragraph.

Previously, ezyVet replaced a shorthand text item only if the shorthand text item was on the last line of a paragraph. If a shorthand text item was on a different line, ezyVet:
  • Did not replace the shorthand text item
  • Moved the cursor to the end of the line

Other fixes

Medications dashboard tab: If a prescription request has no remaining quantity, the Dispense Request Medication table does not show an entry for the request. Previously, the table incorrectly showed entries for requests with no remaining quantity.

In the output of the Batch-Tracked Product report, the Dispenser Name column shows the staff member who dispensed the medication. If a line item has no recorded staff member who dispensed the medication, the column shows the sales person of the applicable invoice. Previously, the Dispenser Name column showed the same name as the Prescriber Name column.

Automated reports. ezyVet keeps the date range selection for the Clinical Note Approval report. Previously, ezyVet did not keep the selection after you saved the report settings.

Fixed an issue where copying text from a clinical record and pasting it into a document template (such as a discharge summary) also copied a grey background highlight. The pasted text now keeps its formatting — headings, sizes, bold and color — without the unwanted highlight.

Reporting: The Aged Receivables report now loads significantly faster, particularly for practices with a large number of financial records. The report's figures are unchanged.

When you connect or disconnect the IDEXX VetConnect PLUS (IDEXX Reference Labs) integration, ezyVet now shows a confirmation message and automatically refreshes the open Integration Setting tab. You no longer need to refresh the tab manually to see the updated connection state.

When ezyVet automatically adds an invoice, the invoice has the applicable inherited tags. Previously, the invoice had no tags until you saved it again.

Tagging tasks: If a tagging task has a problem, ezyVet deactivates only that tagging task. Previously, a problem with one tagging task also deactivated each subsequent tagging task in the same set of scheduled tasks.

ezyVet correctly sends a Performance Summary report or a User Target Summary report to a person if these conditions agree:
  1. The person has the necessary permissions to receive the report
  2. The person's name configured in their ezyVet user account includes a comma

Previously, ezyVet did not send the reports to the person if their name in their ezyVet user account included a comma.

ezyVet lets you save Australia mobile phone numbers that start with 0483 or 0494. Previously, ezyVet showed an error message and did not let you save the numbers in a contact record.

Records dashboard: ezyVet correctly includes all changes to the On Bill(%) values of a contact in the Syndicate Percentage filter. Previously, after you changed an On Bill(%) value, the filter did not show the change for as much as one hour.
