Template content and formatting

When you make a template or change its information, ezyVet shows an template editor. Use the template editor buttons to add different types of content and formatting to the template.

Editor buttons
The sections that follow give information about the editor buttons and functions.
Note: The editor also shows when you make a standard operating procedure.
Tip: To show more of the editor area, select the maximize button:

General text formatting

ButtonsFunction
Buttons for general text formattingUse these buttons to add these types of text formatting:
  • Bold
  • Italic
  • Underline
  • Strikethrough
  • Subscript
  • Superscript
Tip: To remove all text formatting, select the remove formatting button:

Button to add a quoted styleSelect to change the text to a quoted style.
Button to change text colorSelect to change the text color.
Button to change text background colorSelect to change the text background color.
Buttons that control text alignmentUse these buttons to:
  • Set left-aligned text
  • Set center-aligned text
  • Set right-aligned text
  • Set justified text alignment
Buttons to change text style propertiesUse these buttons to change many text style properties at the same time.
Buttons to change font and font sizeUse these buttons to change the font and the font size.
Button to add a horizontal lineSelect to add a horizontal line.
Button to add a special text characterSelect to add a special text character.
Button to add a page breakSelect to add a page break.
Note: ezyVet shows the full page break when you make a document that uses the template.
Tip: To quickly show the page break, select SAVE AND PREVIEW:The Save and Preview button

Ordered lists and unordered lists

ButtonsFunction
Buttons that add lists and control item indentationUse these buttons to:
  • Add an ordered list
  • Add an unordered list
  • Change the indentation of a list item

Selectable lists

You can add a list that has selectable items:

To add the list, first select the selectable list button:

After you select the button, ezyVet shows a Selection Field Properties dialog box that you can use to:
  • Enter the text of each list item
  • Change the sequence of the list items
  • Set the list item that ezyVet automatically selects

Note: ezyVet shows the selectable list when you use presenting mode with a document that uses the template. ezyVet does not show the selectable list when you make a template that uses the selectable list.

Links

To add a webpage link, first select the link button:

After you select the button, ezyVet shows a Link dialog box that you can use to:
  • Enter the link text shown by the document
  • Add the address of the applicable page

Tip: To remove a link, first select the link. Then, select the remove link button:

Anchor links

Use an anchor link to make a link to a different location in the document.

Each anchor link uses a related source link. The source link gives the initial link that a person selects to go to the anchor link.

A table of contents is a good example of when to use anchor links. Each entry in the table of contents is a source link for a related anchor link. Each anchor link is the applicable location in the document.

Checkboxes

You can add checkboxes to a template:

To add a checkbox, select the checkbox button:

After you select the button, ezyVet shows dialog box that you can use to control if the checkbox is automatically selected:

Text boxes

You can add a text box a template:

Persons can use a text box to easily enter text content. To add a text box, select the text box button:

After you select the button, ezyVet shows a Text Field Properties dialog box that you can use to set:
  • The width of the text box
  • The maximum number of characters that a person can enter in the text box

Note: ezyVet shows the text box when you use presenting mode with a document that uses the template.

Tables

To add a table, select the table button:

Images

To add an image, first select the image button:

After you select the button, ezyVet shows an Image Properties dialog box that you can use to:
  • Enter the address of the image
  • Set the image dimensions
  • Set a border
  • Set the image alignment

Note: You cannot upload an image directly to a document or a template. You must use the address of the image to add the image. As an alternative, you can use a template image.
