About new client registration and first appointments
If a person is not a client of your practice, they can use the Vello client portal to complete registration and make their first appointment with your practice.
This table shows information about each step that a practice manager must do to let new clients:
- Complete registration
- Make their first appointment and subsequent appointments in the client portal

| 3 | Select Allow new clients to register and book in the Create new clients & pets section of the Client Permissions screen. The change saves immediately. Note: If you do not activate online booking, Vello shows a message that tells you that new clients can complete registration but they cannot make appointments. Note: Vello does not automatically activate Allow new clients to register and book. | 4 | Copy the booking link URL or QR code shown in the Booking link section. As an alternative, select the buttons that show adjacent to APPOINTMENT BOOKING in the Practice Settings screen to get the link or QR code. Add the link or QR code to your website, newsletters, and flyers. As a result, new clients have access to the correct link to complete registration and make an appointment.
