ezyVet version 45.5 is available from July 28, 2026.
Changes to inventory settings of batch-tracked product records
The Inventory balances table does not automatically show expired batches. To show expired batches, select Show Expired. Previously, the Inventory balances table showed expired batches.
The Inventory balances table does not show deactivated batches. Previously, you could select a checkbox to show deactivated batches.
- ezyVet kept the recorded inventory level for the batch
- The applicable product record used the deactivated batch's inventory level to calculate its total inventory level
The Overall inventory movement table does not show information of deactivated batches.
Change: Before you deactivate a batch, correct its inventory levels
- You cannot deactivate the batch
- An Edit batch dialog box does not show the Disable button
- Shows a message that names each applicable ezyVet hospital if you try to deactivate the batch
If you try to deactivate the batch, ezyVet hospital shows a message that tells you each applicable hospital.
Previously, it was possible to deactivate the batch.
Change: Replace a batch with a different batch
You can replace a batch record with a different batch record for the same product. For example, if you incorrectly made two batch records for the same batch, you can replace the incorrect record with the correct one. When you replace a batch, the change is only applicable to the ezyVet hospital that you are signed in to.
- Select the Inventory tab of a batch-tracked product record.
- In the Inventory balances table, double-click the row of the batch that you want to replace. As a result, ezyVet shows an Edit batch dialog box.
- In the Edit batch dialog box, select Replace By...
- In the Replacement batch box, select the applicable batch.
- Select Replace.
- Adds the quantity of the replaced batch to the quantity of the batch that you replaced it with
- Sets the quantity of the replaced batch to zero
- Changes all possible records that used the replaced batch to use the batch that you replaced it with
- Does not change records that it cannot change (for example, approved inventory counts)
- Shows the changes to batch quantities in the Overall inventory movement and Inventory balances tables
Changes to the Inventory Value report
In the output of the Inventory Value report, the name of the Average Cost Price Per Unit column changed to Weighted Average Cost Price Per Unit.
- Received inventory records
- Received invoice records
- Inventory adjustments
The calculated cost price uses the quantities of a product recorded in the applicable record types for weighting. For example, your records can have more quantity of a given product with a $2 cost than a $1 cost. As a result, the $2 cost has a larger effect on the calculated cost price than the $1 cost price.
Previously, the report output showed only the last cost price that you recorded for the product.
- Uses the product's sell price of the product on the end date of the report period as the cost price
- Shows a star symbol ( ★ ) for each applicable product line
If the product also has no sell price, the report output shows a cost price of $0.00 and the star symbol.
The output of the Inventory Value report has a new Current Unit Cost column. The column shows the last cost price that you recorded for each product. To show the column, select Display unit cost price.
The Inventory Value report has a new Start Date box. Use the Start Date box to show only inventory values after a given date. The report output does not use inventory values recorded before the start date in quantity and cost calculations.
ezyVet version 45.5 removes the Show inventory value average checkbox from the Inventory Value report settings.
Change to the Inventory Take report
- One row for each batch that has a batch number
- One row that has an empty Batch entry for the product quantity that is not related to a batchNote: If you use the report output for an inventory count and these conditions agree, ezyVet does not use a row's information to calculate inventory levels:
- The row is for a batch-tracked product
- The row's Batch entry is empty
As a result, the total quantity of the product's batch rows is equal to the product's total inventory level.
- One row for each product
- An empty Batch column
Fix for inventory transfers with batch-tracked products
- Makes a copy of the inventory transfer
- Enters a batch number for each applicable line item in the copy of the inventory transfer
- Did not make a copy of the inventory transfer
- Did not show an error message to tell you that it did not make a copy of the inventory transfer
Fixes for the Inventory Value report
Report output in Microsoft Excel format correctly shows the Total Inventory Value and Cost Price Per Unit columns in currency format. Previously, the report output did not show the columns in currency format. As a result, you could not use the column entries as numbers to sort the report output.
When you sell an inventory-tracked product, its Weighted Average Cost Price Per Unit value does not change in the report output. Previously, when you sold an inventory-tracked product, its Weighted Average Cost Price Per Unit value changed in the report output.
