About the standard-of-care system

The standard-of-care system gives you an easy and accurate view of the vaccinations and treatments that a patient received regularly or will receive regularly.

The standard-of-care system helps clients know which vaccinations and treatments are necessary for a patient and the related due dates.

Examples of vaccinations that you can use the standard-of-care system for:
  • FIV vaccination
  • DHPP vaccination
  • Leptospirosis vaccination
Examples of vaccinations that you can use the standard-of-care system for:
  • Blood tests
  • Prescription diets
  • Treatment items for health conditions (for example, for arthritis or chemotherapy)

The standard-of-care system can use communication tasks to send automatic reminders to clients. Thus, the standard-of-care system decreases the manual work necessary to send reminders about clinical care to clients.

How ezyVet shows standard-of-care information

The primary method that ezyVet uses to show standard-of-care information is the Standard Of Care table. The table has a set of colors, text formatting, and icons that identify information that includes:
  • Vaccinations or treatments that are due, almost due, or overdue
  • How important a vaccination or treatment is
  • Vaccinations or treatments that a patient received

Standard-of-care system: Conditions for automatic reminders

To calculate when it is necessary for a patient to receive a vaccine or treatment, the standard-of-care system uses a set of conditions. Examples of conditions include:
  • Patient species
  • Patient age
  • Patient sex
  • Presenting problem
  • A specified patient only
When all conditions agree, the standard-of-care system can:
  • Send automatic reminders
  • Make adjustments to the information shown in Standard Of Care tables in ezyVet screens

Note: A practice manager configures conditions for the standard-of-care system.

The standard-of-care system automatically calculates due dates for care services (for example vaccinations or treatments). But if necessary, you can manually change the due date of a care service. For example, a patient could have a treatment service for a dental check. But if a veterinarian thinks that it is necessary to do the dental check during a different day, they can manually change the due date.
