About custom supplied diagnostic tests
Use a custom supplied diagnostic test to easily send many diagnostic test requests at the same time.
A practice manager usually configures a custom supplied diagnostic test. A custom supplied diagnostic test has one or more supplied diagnostic tests. The supplied diagnostic tests that a practice manager can set for a custom supplied diagnostic test are related to the diagnostics supplier that they select. A practice manager can also set a code and a name that is applicable to your organization for the custom supplied diagnostic test.
Note: A custom supplied diagnostic test can only have supplied diagnostic tests. You cannot use a site diagnostic test with a custom supplied diagnostic test.
ExampleThe Callisto Vets practice manager wants to make it easy for staff to send many supplied diagnostic tests at the same time for a blood test. They make a custom supplied diagnostic test that has the name CBC, CHEM17. Then, they add these supplied diagnostic tests to the custom supplied diagnostic test:
- CBC
- CHEM17
On a different day, it is necessary for a staff member to send CBC and CHEM17 blood tests to the diagnostics supplier. The staff member:
- Opens the patient’s clinical record
- Selects the CBC, CHEM17 custom supplied diagnostic test
- Sends a diagnostic test request to the diagnostics supplier
