About client changes to pet names

Clients can use the Vello client portal to easily make changes to their pet names (for example, if a name has incorrect spelling).

The name changes that a client makes in the client portal sync automatically to the applicable patient record in ezyVet. As a result, it is not necessary for practice staff to make name changes directly in ezyVet patient records

To control client changes to pet names in the client portal, use the settings in the Patient Record Permissions section of the Vello Client Permissions screen:

Accept direct updatesIf you select Accept direct updates, clients can make pet name changes in the client portal. To make the changes, clients select the Update Pet Information button that shows in the Pet Information screen of the client portal:

Note: Vello does not automatically let clients make changes to information. If you want to let clients make changes, you must select Accept direct updates.
Call to updateIf you select Call to update, clients must contact your practice to make changes to pet names. The Pet Information screen of the client portal also shows a Need to update pet information? button. If a client selects Need to update pet information?, the client portal tells them to contact your practice to make name changes.
